Yes, because the responders in this thread are completely representative of the entire human race. I used to post on a forum a long time ago where they always used to yell about blanket statements. That was like a thing....'blanket statements are bad'. I never understood why they got all worked up about it. Now I do.

On topic, in addition to being a year old, the article is obviously fake. I could suggest a more reliable news site for the OP. -> http://www.theonion.com/

These are the kinds of people in our military?! NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Wait! Maybe he was joking? I mean you can't convey tone on text so maybe he said it sarcastically! Yes! That must be it!

The fact that few bothered to fact-check the article to get more details is actually indicative of a broader (and documented) human tendency to take things one believes would happen at face value and only being skeptical of things one doesn't like/that don't gel with one's current beliefs, as opposed to questioning everything that has even a tinge of nonsensical-ness to it.

There are dozens of examples you could find of this in real life: people taking what their party says at face value and them questioning the opponent's arguments, people believing that some representative from one party said something offensive (and also obviously against his/her ideology) just because it's "the norm" for a person of that persuasion to say offensive things, people assuming anthropomorphic climate change isn't happening due to sources they like, and due to the fact that they're skeptical of articles they don't like because they suggest things they don't like; etc. It also seems to be on the rise all across the world, as people become more polarized (in terms of internal politics, in terms of an "Us vs Them" mentality on immigration, etc).

So it's not just this thread; this thread is just a very recent example of it.

Also his/her use of the phrase was probably for the purpose of poking fun at a bunch of people talking about how a dumb guy in a fake story made them lose their faith in humanity (that was definitely my intention anyway), so chillax. Geez.

Now I'm usually one of the first to believe in the endless stupidity of humanity but this one seems too much even for that...I mean...seriously?...This has to be a joke...

Boy lady, your husband must adore you to be that blindly in denial about you.

I hope you feel awful for the rest of your life for spinning that tale.

But whatever. That kid is going to have questions when he's older mark my words and some truths are going to have to be blown. So good luck with that.

Edit: for all those thinking it, yes rarely does it happen, but a Black couple can have a white child and a White couple can have a black child. But it states clearly that the husband wasn't there so this is just a typical cheating wife.

Yup, this makes sense.

No fault in anyone's logic here, after all: A machine that is incapable of producing organic, viable sperm is capable of impregnating a women directly from the screen without her even realizing it, especially if she is wear some form of undergarments.

....

Okay, this is fucking bullshit, how the hell would this women come to this conclusion?!

If you believe that, you deserve it.

It reminds me of a story I read about a guy who was returning from a 12 month tour in Afghanistan to see the birth of his baby.

No IVF or anything. His natural baby. At 12 months.

Yep.

Sometimes reality is too much for people to deal with so they accept whatever they can.

I've no doubt these guys know their wives cheated, but just can't bear to confront it.
"Sometimes reality is too much for people to deal with so they accept whatever they can" that is EXACTLY what I was thinking !

The story is fake, people.

"TechEye did a survey of one person and found 100 percent would say the same thing in a similar situation"

Yup, that's totally not sarcasm. I don't think anyone is that incredibly stupid, even today.
