For me, it's the words 'heart' and 'darkness' in Kingdom Hearts. Ugh, even saying the title makes me just...

Also, the name Yevon in Final Fantasy X. It's almost the same as with the name God in real life for me. For those of you who don't know, Yevon is, I think, supposed to be a god in Final Fantasy X.

How about you, which words in which games make you go "Ugh" or cringe (correct me if cringe is spelled wrong)?

Edit: Yes, phrases do count too.

Do phrases count?
Because "I fight for my friends" put me off being Ike in Brawl forever.

"Thou" "For Sooth" and any of that generic old English shit, I can't stand it!

This is what put me off Fable 2, Dragon Age and various other fantasy games, they just can never make it sound right, so it comes off as being very annoying and smug!

In any phrase to the effect of: "But before you do that, you have to..."
That usually means your objective got a whole lot more complicated.

Seriously people, it wasn't that funny when the game was released, it sure as shit isn't gonna get funnier by repeating it for three fucking years.

"Press X to not die" - purely as a fanboy

Plus most game where one of the phrases dances around the template of "You are the chosen one" or "only you can do this task" Far too common

Not technically in games, but the term "RPG". Since half of the games labeled as RPGs actually aren't designed for a player to role play.
Whenever any character says "I will protect (insert noun)!"

Yes, but that doesnt make it any less cringeworthy when we hear it every five minutes.
