And here I was hopefull that the sucky matches were left behind on the first round.

Thank you England and Algeria. Thank you so fucking much for killing 90 minutes of so much people's lives . Wood-legged zombie pirates would have done a better game.
In fairness to Algeria, they're not the strongest team and were doing their best to create a few chances. England, on the other hand, had no excuse. They were horrendous.

My team playing today. I hope they make a better show of it than the last few matches. There have only been one or two matches this tournament that were interesting enough to watch.

Chuck Norris hates the vuvus.

I'd SNIP the picture, but I'm scared Chuck might notice and hurt me.
You made my day with this one, you really did. I can go to bed with a grin on my face now.
Yay! And now I'm afraid to snip it too. If he's the only man in the world willing to smash a few vuvus, imagine what he'd do to a couple of internet geeks!

Are you Dutch? I'm rooting for the Netherlands to win, as I have in every world cup. Come n Holland!

I don't really care about the World Cup. People in England get really worked up about it and it's all over the media. It starts to get pretty annoying. So I hope England get knocked out early, so everone will shut up about it.
I think I just found a soal mate....
Sorry that was just me being bloody creepy
Anyway what I meant was is that I totally agree, whenever I hear some football hooligans incomprehensibly shouting I just pray somehow when the match starts the football somehow explodes and takes both teams with it. I wonder if it is just as bad in America.

Anelka insulted Domenech on the half time break while domenech was telling him how he should play and that if he made more mistakes he would get subs. After telling what Anelka "had" to say he was indeed trown out for André-Pierre Gignac.

So tells the journal L'equipe

http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2010/20100619_085031_le-gros-clash-anelka-domenech.html

better not translate the words ^^

if this was true i don´t know what to think about it...a player should never do this to the coach especially in front of everybody in the middle of a such important game...but then again it is Domenech :O i can´t stand him...

I find it funny how France have ruined their World Cup by not playing Henry for the handball.

Australia needs to win this match... that way everyone in group D would have 3 points and things would definitely look better for Germany. ^^

1:1 so far... and another red card already. Admittedly this one was actually justified, but I swear, this is the world cup of refs gone mad.

I actually kinda thought it looked like it might have been an accident... his posture to me indicated that he was heaving his chest forward to try to stop it... oh well.

Anyone else notice the number of quite poor ref calls this World Cup?

Not called handball by Uruguay against France.
Red Card for Kewell against Ghana (it was too harsh. A yellow, yes. But not a red).
(Biggest so far) The disallowed goal for the US vs Slovenia.
"He's a crook, a scoundrel ... just a shameless bastard," Thats what the Brazilian football body president described the referee of England's first match (he's no longer allowed to referee in Brazil).
Also in US vs Slovenia: Finley got a yellow card for a handball in the box. However the ball didn't even hit his arm and now he'll miss the last game against Algeria.
And back to the Australia v Ghana match. A vicious tackle by Lee Addy on Bresciano only gets a yellow card. Just saying this seems bizarre.

Also important to notice is the number of goalie screw-ups:

Green for England against the USA
The Algerian goalie against Slovenia
The Ghana goalie against Australia.
North Korea against Brazil (the first goal. Yes it was a tight angle so good job to the shooter but the goalie just needed to move a hand out to stop it).

Just thought I'd point this out. List anymore if you find any.

I will also say that there have been really good performances by goalkeepers.

Ghana 1:1 Australia

Ghana are top dog in group D at the moment, and yet all their goals so far were the results of penalty kicks. Heh.
Wednesday is going to be very exciting.

Two games until now today, both were far from great. Still I think Australia would have won if not for the red card. Ghana is scoring only with penaltys.

That's quite undeserving for two pretty good teams.

Might I add...
The referee bad calls:
- The atrocious red card for Klose
- The uncalled offside during Slovakia's first goal against New Zealand
- The Tim Cahill red card (although the Kewell one was actually pretty damn fair)
- The goalkeeper red card during South Africa - Uruguay

Goalie screw-ups:
- The Mark Schwarzer one that caused Germany's second goal against Australia (although to be fair Mark is a damn fine keeper)

Can't remember anymore. Also, I think there should be a count of retarded meaningless handballs.

They're not out yet, they could beat France and go through.

It was disgusting seeing thier 'fans' walking out ten minutes before the end. Way to support your country, lads.
