Unbelievable how many empty seats in the stadium today.

Have fans had enough of the hellhorn?
South Africa's out, most of them don't care anymore.
They're not out yet, they could beat France and go through.

It was disgusting seeing thier 'fans' walking out ten minutes before the end. Way to support your country, lads.
Indeed, should be there right till the end, especially when your hosting the cup.

I hate them so much, hopefully after the group stages there will be less and less of them.

I know man, they're awful. And particularly loud today. Italy v New Zealand is almost unwatchable.

I've got music on so I don't have to listen to them.

So if England fails to get out of the first round how upset will you guys be? If they don't beat Algeria and USA ties or Wins they are out if I understand the first round, or what happens if the USA and England both tie?

I'll be overjoyed!

For quite a few years now, England have been surfing a wave of mediocrity and apathy, always blaming defeats on bad luck/poor reffing/one players moment of madness. These things have given the fans and players simple excuses as to why we're not world beaters.

The simple truth is that, unless they really buck their ideas up, they're just not good enough. Only complete and utter failure on a truly epic scale, leaving no doubts at all, will make the people that matter see this.......and then hopefully something drastic will be done.

I've refused to support England so far and hope it all goes tits up.

I'm happy now though, New Zealand have just drawn 1-1 with Italy. Now that was an example of a team that gives a fuck about representing their country.

As I understand it, England now have to beat Slovenia to get through unless the US tie with Algeria, in which case I'm not sure what happens. They already played Algeria btw (on friday, was it?) and they drew.

Goal difference is the same between U.S.A and England at the moment. For U.S.A to win the group they have to beat algeria by more goals then england beat slovenia. All slovenia need is a draw to qualify. Both U.S.A and england need a win to guarante qualification.

Pity they got F'd in the A by the ref. No way was that a penalty.

Still, even though it was 'just' a draw I'm grinning like an idiot here. The former champions have been thoroughly humiliated, which is particularly sweet for me because they kicked out Germany during the last world cup.

Clockwork Orange is only Clockwork Orange. Netherlands - Japan was a horrible match, but, as a Dutchman, I'm glad they won.

All big teams play like shit, but the Dutch are actually winning all their matches.

Yep, sure he had a hold of his shirt, but he didn't pull on it. When was the last time any normal person fell over because someone tugged their t-shirt?!!

Honestly, I think that all footballers are total pussies!

If the USA wins, they are in.
If the USA ties and England loses, USA is in.
If the USA and England both tie, and England doesn't score three (I think) more than the Americans, the US is in.
If England wins they are in as well, so it's still entirely possible for both the US and England to get in if they both win.

Difficult, but doable. We'll see... before any of that happens we need to defeat Ghana first.
