FIFA is the most corrupt organization in the world of sport.
Or just have the dumbest and blindest referees. Remember that he didn't see both arms being used in Brazil's second goal.

I'm pretty stoked about todays result for NZ, (NZer here,) but the diving needs to stop as does the habit of referees to get stars in their eyes and make rulings in favour of the top teams. The calls in the NZ Italy game were pretty terrible and Italy doesn't need the help! I mean their players are so good they defy the laws of physics when, somehow, someone being tugged on the back of their shirt has them plummeting face forward to the ground. I mean I'm not a physisit but I was impressed.

Ignoring Reid being throttled and Nelsen getting taken down from behind and then giving Nelsen a yellow card for not wanting to be taken of the field on a stretcher as well? Holy Hell, that's just a mess.

And this ref isn't alone. Constantly the fallers and the divers are the ones being rewarded. And you know the thing, it's not the minnows taking the dives, it's generally the top teams. I mean what the Hell?

De Rossi was laughing with disbelief that his dive got a face-saving penalty, (according to Nelsen.) That's just infuriating and I'm so glad that the All Whites maintained their fierce determination to give the Italians an embarrassing draw - and yes I'm glad that not winning against New Zealand is considered an embarrassment. Adds some schadenfreude to the mix.

So throughout all of that a 78th ranked team still managed to draw with the 5th ranked world champion team and I'm stoked. Look a victory would have been... amazing. Out of this world amazing. A shame that underhanded tactics meant that a Disney-esque result didn't happen but really I think a draw is a good result for the All Whites. They keep their current high, (and to be honest I was expecting a thrashing to bring us back down to earth after the Slovakia match,) but they still have something to proove against Paraguay.

Whatever happenes to the All Whites from now on they've done in this World Cup what they hoped to do and then some - proove themselves not just to be cannon fodder, proove themselves to deserve a place at the World Cup and as a New Zealander I couldn't be more proud of them.

Erm, I watched the game today, and the Italian - De Rossi, I believe - did not go flying, he just started yelling and making gestures to the ref, who promptly responded. Still, I'm not sure if the whole incident was penalty-worthy... it's just one more weird call in a long line of hiiiiighly dubious calls made by the twitchy refs at this year's World Cup.

And yeah, I think we do have a good chance of beating Ghana on Wednesday as long as the ref doesn't give them any penalty kicks. I just hope our boys have gotten over that mood dampener of being defeated by Spai- sorry, Serbia.

54, 74, 90, 2010, ja so stimmen wir alle ein! Mit dem Herz in der Hand und der Leidenschaft im Bein werden wir Weltmeister sein! :)
Hmm, odd, then I must've been thinking of another scene. Or maybe the ref didn't give the penalty for what I thought he gave it for.

Anyway, that doesn't matter now, Italy still delivered a pathetic performance for the team that currently holds the title.

Also, Ghana has no chance:)
The only goals they've scored so far at this cup were through penalties and if the game against Australia(who had fewer players for over an hour) is anything to go by, they don't get anywhere near the goal otherwise.

I own quite a few German language albums (50 or so), and have three by Sportfruende Stiller. Feel free to suggest bands, I'm a big fan of the language and the music from there. I think on one of the Guitar Hero games I was only person I knew excited by inclusion of Die Toten Hosen. Least I have audio surf to enjoy Die Artze and Subway to Sally and Rammstein and Ooomph! and In Extermo and (I'm rambling...)

Oh, not a fan of Tokio Hotel, no offense.

You, good sir, are awesome.

And nobody mentally sane should be a fan of Tokio Hotel. They're the worst thing to come out of Germany in decades.

Portugal beats DPR Korea 7:0. Finally a decent score. It was a turkey shoot during the last 15 minutes, but still.

I'd say there's a good chance those North Koreans are going to get the firing squad for embarassing their country when they come home. Oh dear.

Did you see that red card?
That utter atrocity of a red card?
The Chile-Switzerland match is ruined by a clown of a referee.

It's another card-fest alright. I've said it before: this is the World Cup of refs gone mad.

Yeah.
I doubt we'll see any matches resembling the infamous Holland-Portugal WC 2006.
But that guy just totally ruined the game for Switzerland, the guys I'm rooting for.
Seriously, the refereeing here is almost as bad as in the Russian Premier League and believe me, that's saying a LOT.

Oh what the hell? Another red card? Don't these people see all the criticism?!? Why doesn't the FIFA tell the referees to stop overreacting so much?

What the fuck just happened in the Swiss-Chile game? How much is Chile paying that ref? Seriously.

Switzerland messes up, yellow card.

Chile messes up more, free kick!

That red card was total bullshit.

Chile was off-side for that goal.

Players can't even play the ref is whistling around so much.

Maybe they should hire new ones. This is just stupid. Is FIFA pissed that Switzerland beat Spain or something so they sic their refs onto them?

I've been really looking forward to the World Cup all year, but the whole thing has been too much to watch. A couple good games and landslides of either shoddy goalkeeping or terrible calls or both. I'm just gonna switch over to watching Wimbledon.

CARREGA PORTUGALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!

hahahah :p

great game and only portuguese ppl in the 11 1st players not those half dudes :O (naturalized or something) we have quite a few... Deco,Liedson and Pepe! i am against this. People born in a country should play for their country no more no less.

Look where France is now :O more than half of their players arent born in france and it has happened before that they have to play against the country they born in... players must be proud of their country

I wish had won in a fair game because I hate Switzerland's playing style, 11 people defending is just ugly. But I also hate cheated games, so I have mixed feelings for the result.

And, holy crap Portugal!
