My favorite idea is: get one referee to run around the pitch, another to sit somewhere inside and watch the replays. Give them both mikes and speakers.
Ta-dah, problem solved.
What perplexes me is that the referee understood that there was offside and still didn't make the call.
That was just wrong.
This is a day where numerous people need to wake up and smell the shit they're shovelling!

I feel so sorry for the Mexicans. Argentina's handing them their ass. I'm scared of the match against them.
Didn't we beat Argentina at the last World Cup, though...? I seem to remember watching that match. What was is, quarter finals?
We sure did, but it was a tough game and was only decided with penalty-kicks.

I'll wait with any predictions until Paul tells us who will win.

What is wrong with the referees at this World Cup? Today was really bad but the referees haven't been doing their job very well during the whole tournament.

I can't take it seriously anymore... that Argentinian goal was a disgraceful decision. Fuck this World Cup, worst one ever.

FIFA... give us video replays!!!

I think it's against the rules to use the monitor in the stadium as help. So even if he knew he made a mistake there was nothing he could do.

But seriously, Sepp Blatter needs to go! He is ruining the sport!

He could change all of the problems with the ref system if he wanted to, but he doesn't fucking want to!

Someone needs to compose a list of all the referee blunders on this championship based on their importance and obviousness... for there has been a lot of them.

This is embarassingly unjustifiable.

"The day you stop a match and the referee takes the two captains to a monitor to see if something is inside, or outside the penalty box is the day the spectators will say no, we are not coming to the game.

There will be no more discussion, if there?s no more discussion, then there is no more hope. With no more hope, there?s no more life, voila.

That?s football, let it live and let it play the fantastic social and cultural role it has in peoples? emotions and passions. Even if there are errors, let them be, everyone makes errors.

We should not stop the game and have monitors to see if a decision is right or wrong.

We are open to goal-line technology and as soon as it is accurate ? and so far it is not ? we will look at it. We tested goal-line technology two years ago in the Club World Cup, but the results were not conclusive.?

This is the worst argument I have heard in my entire life.
I can't even make fun of the guy because after hearing this, I think he might have already lost his fucking mind for all I know.

Good news is, his term ends in 2011.

Bad news is, he said he is happy to accept another mandate to "finish off his presidential mission".

And considering he bribed his way to the post to begin with, he probably could have another mandate if he wanted to.

Riiiight, I remember now. Well, just goes to show - difficult but doable.

I believe Paul hasn't made a single wrong call so far at this World Cup. I'm very excited for his next official prediction. :D

Carlos goal the best thus far this World Cup?

Heck of a strike.
It was fantastic, sure, but I would say that Fabio Quagliarella's super goal for Italy was better.
Or Lampard's goal.
*sigh*

Don't understand why you hate the referee so much.
I am German and the second "goal" just wasn't in.

Here is the proof:

While I'm still extremely irked about that bad call, this pic made me laugh. A lot. :D

You know it, I know it, England and Germany know it, the world knows it. It was a goal. 4-2.

When the sport is being this badly affected by their refusal to use technology, what's the point in even playing it? So unjust. And Mexico got screwed even worse tonight. HOW did that linesman not call that offside...
