That said, if you want to see how we will take down Italy in the 1/8 or 1/4 finals(if they even make that). PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at the European Cup match of 2 years ago Italy-The Netherlands and while you're busy France-The Netherlands, both got a sheer ass-whooping
And then look at Russia - The Netherlands.
I still can't believe we got that one. It was awesome.

Trust the Germans, 3-0, proof that you should never underestimate this side, no matter whos in it
True, I find the germans the only real stabile factor in the past few tournaments. They always deliver :)

Yeah, your pokes weren't really the most subtle.
It's true though, Portugal were horrible to watch in the last World Cup, so much diving and cheating it was sickening. I'm Irish and even I felt England were robbed.

Even so, I dont think there would of been much hope in the latter stages for England if we got through anyway, but I agree with you on Ronaldo, what a total winker!

It still is nothing compared to the horrible cheatfest that was the 2002 World Cup.
Seriously, I have never been that angered at a football team (South Korea) the referees.

Bother to mention the name of the coach and his nationality? Add to that the feats he accomplished before... Yeah... Well... If South Korea can make the quarter finals( or half, fomr the top of my head). Why does Russia strand in the same or one higher place?

Alrightey.
Group Stage - S. Korea vs Portugal - 2 bullshit red cards for the Portuguese, they lose the match.
1/8 finals - S. Korea vs Italy - a red card and a goal cancelled during extra time for the Italians, they lose the match.
1/4 finals - S. Korea vs Spain - 2 absolute crystal clean goals scored by Spain cancelled, they lose penalties.
I was pretty mad.

I wouldn't mention South Korea, the referee-ing was a travesty.
I am in no way suggesting that our national team is better than yours, btw.
Just that one match we won.

Who's psyched?

Will the South African team do well? And will thier fans ever stop blowing those feckin' horns?
I hope we do well, And no, we won't :)

We have drawn to Mexico who are more than 60 places above us, so I'm happy. Besides, we have all the vuvuzelas for support :] On Friday you could hear those horns blowing over the entire city, it is all a ploy to scare you tourists ;)

Sorry for excessive and unmanly use of smilies, but I feel they were warranted...

England does what it does best...fail. Hehehehhehe. ^^

Anyway I'm going to root for Spain and Argentina. I despise Portugal commanded by Queiroz this World Cup, watching Portugal playing is just painful. Our midfield is composed of really poor players in really bad form. Not to mention that a-hole of a coach calls players that spent almost all season injured,(Pepe? Really...) hoping that they will recover magically, even though they been months without playing.
Not to mention that thier defining tactic is 'dive on the ground holding your knee and roll around like a little ***** until you get a free kick'

EDIT: Sorry, I just hate Ronaldo
Yup that seems about right. ^^

I love the world cup, to bad Canada didn't make it in but that would of been a long shot.
The teams i'm rooting for this year are Spain, Argentina, Brazil, and Italy not in any certain order. I would love to see Germany go out fast would make my day.

All in all I hope we have a great world cup here filled with entertaining to watch matches.

I'm happy you enjoy your vuvuzelas, but you're aware it's completely ruining the world cup for every other country in the world, right?

Yes, and most individual people - myself included - don't like the noise they make, but we take a good number of the seats in every match so Fifa had to let it slide, just cos the Soccer nuts really like them here. It is complicated, but it ain't gonna change unfortunately. Sorry, but have fun anyway, and if you can't, meh, I'm to poor to buy a cookie at this point, accept my apology.

[small]now I must go out and by an extra vuvuzela, one for every tourist I meet...[/small]

It's not your fault, it's the fault of some fucking businessman in SA who decided to market the damn things as 'South African Tradition'.

I've heard they are actually re-considering banning them. I would hate to be a footballer trying to concentrate on the game with that fucking cacophony going on around me.

It's just so disappointing, it's fast becoming the worst world cup ever because of those awful horns. Everyone I've spoken to is driven mad by them.

Bafana Bafana look like they have the potential to continue the tradition of host teams inspired to punch above their weight. They should at least get out of the first round this time out *touch wood*.

I'm actually glad to see a tournament with a strong American side; it changes things up nicely and introduces some extra excitement. And they drew with England! Go Yanks!
No, actually Robert Green drew with England, the US had very little to do with that game really.

And a tradition it became, one which was rather loud. Although the vuvuzelas are ANCIENT, so tradition may not be far off. It's better than drug dealing, Nevermind, businessman was evil.

Lol, it's certainly better than drug dealing... still though, I'd rather listen to feckin Brokencyde than more of those things.

Are you actually going to go into the stadium? If so I'll be the South African businessman selling earplugs to tourists...
