Well, the truly worst anime I watched was Grave of the Fireflies, because it reduced me, a fully grown manly-man, into a smoldering pile of tears. Seriously, the last few minutes of that was probably the most heart-wrenching sequence of events I've ever seen ON ANY FORM OF MEDIA.This is probably one of those anime's I won't be able to watch again. /sarcasm (I had to get that out)

KARAS, Actually surprised hasn't been said yet also surprised Dragon ball z hasn't been hated on much.
It has the advantage of being old. So it was awesome before you knew any better (if you watched it before you were past your teens, anyway). Plus it has a parody series in youtube by Team Four Star, which is absolutely hilarious.

I haven't seen my worst anime, because if I get the feeling that it would turn out bad, I'd stop watching before it gets to the parts that make it the worst.

I was never big on the super-machine animes like Gundam. I'm more into the comedic animes, especially those with action overtones like Ranma 1/2, Lupin III, etc.

Luckily having not seen the Tekken movie I need not list it.

But then, I've seen something else that almost makes up (down?) for that:

Ninja Ressurection

Orginally marketed as the sequel to Ninja Scroll but actually has nothing to do with it. Besides this bit of miss-marketing it is also bad. Really, really bad. For your own sake avoid this thing, there's not even any sarcastic laughs to be had here.

No wasted episodes? Seriously? The first series has a beach ep, a shopping ep, a christmas ep, a hotsprings ep. They're all filler, story goes nowhere, characters don't change, status quo is retained. It's been a while since I saw it and I only saw the first season but I particularly remember being annoyed at its slow pace.

I definately agree this series gets too much flak. What it is is mediocre, probably a bit better. Frankly its the people telling others that the series is 'godly' that makes others mark it down. Same goes for Evangelion. I think it also gets a lot of criticism for what the series represents; Gonzo's breakthrough. Its the series that opened the floodgates to the mountain of dung that studio has produced.
Evangelion was by Gainax, and they had done things before that, Gunbuster and Nadia The secret of Blue Water.

As for bad Anime, if you want a lowest common denominator Odin - Starlight Mutiny makes everything look good, even in the original Japanese the story line is broken beyond belief

I gotta go with the extremely overrated Naruto.

It feels like a whole bunch of badly developed characters not acting like ninjas. The action is crappy the story is crappy and the animation is OK at best.

Edit: By the way count the "best" version of the anime you select. Crappy Dub Job does not constitute an anime being bad.
i hate Naruto. And just to add in, my favorite, and in fact only one is Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.
May I ask why you hate Naruto, and not DBZ? Yeah, I'm calling people out now.
I personally enjoyed Naruto, at times it was humorous, others it was actiony, I enjoyed the characters because each of them are different from one another making them easy to remember. But I think what makes people hate it a lot is because there are a lot of filler arcs. But if they did not have the fillers, then we'd probably be waiting several years in order to get enough story from the mangas in order to make a single episode. At least it's kind of better than DBZ, at least the characters did not spend 3 to 4 episodes gathering enough energy to blow in 15 minutes. I also enjoyed Lucky Star, its a slow-paced easy to understand show that's a bit more down to earth than most others. I can't really say which anime out there I hate the most is, but I do remember seeing something in one of those anime weekly magazines about 4 guys that look so much like girls it made me queasy. If you know the name of whatever it is, give a shout.
Among other animes I enjoyed, there would be Lupin the 3rd, Samurai Champloo, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Desert Punk, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Trigun, and Ghost in the Shell.

The Viewtiful Joe Anime....

Umm... Naruto has been said enough, so I won't go any further.

There was this chibi Gundam series before... I still have no idea why its creators decided it was a good idea, though...

Thats all I can think of, really. To be honest, though, the only anime that I can say I've loved is Fooly Cooly.

That would be Saiyuki. Kinda sad, cause it had potential (I felt sad at Hakkai's back story: wife got abducted by demons, got raped then slashed her own neck in front of him WHILE HE WAS TRYING TO RESCUE HER. He finally mustered up enough courage to raid the HQ all alone and that was what he got). Too bad it turned out to be just another bishounen type to appeal to all the yaoi fangirls.

Oh you know what? shut the hell up. Only idiots say "all anime sucks", although to be fair you'd be a bigger idiot to say "all anime kicks ass"
Okay fine. If it says "Unedited" or "Uncut" I am not watching it.
........What the fuck does that mean?? Also, I've only ever seen the words "uncut" used for dubs.

Wherever I go, all I hear is Naruto haters that keep saying how much they hate the show without even giving a sound reason for saying so. At least give a reason (about the show, manga, whatever except fandom) for hating it.
It's kind of like saying "I hate that food" before ever tasting it.

They hate it because it's popular.

Is that really a good reason to hate it? If it weren't as popular as it is, would they even have known it existed?

My partner and I watched a segment of Naruto. At first we thought, "Hmm, this seems okay" and then something happened and it ruined it for us. I can't remember what it was, it was a long time ago. If it doesn't appeal, we don't watch it.

You know, I never thought about people only seeing the anime, and not understanding that the filler arcs were just that.

I do also like the characters a lot, but when you get further into the manga, you find that he doesn't do enough with the characters, mainly because he has too many of them. I guess as we progress further, we may see them do a bit more.

And yes, an episode is supposed to be about 2-3 chapters from the manga.

DBZ however, attempted to solve the same issue we are talking about, but rather than stop altogether, it stretched each episode beyond all belief, which I could care less about at the time, I was just thinking 'ZOMG AWESOME HE'S SUPER STRONG WHAT'RE THEY GONNA DO NEXT??'.

And all of those anime you listed were superb, The castle of cagliostro being my favourite Lupin the 3rd.
