Worst Anime You've Ever Seen?

Worst one I have ever seen whilst avoiding the shit like beyblad, yu gi oh and what not has to be Xenosaga. Now I have not played the game it's supposed to be based on but dear lord what a piece of crap it was. I sat through the entire thing hoping it would get better as it had potential but it never pays off, just ends with more plot holes than swiss cheese and completely terrible characters and a villain with squandered potential. Guess I should have played the game, but still...

I thought that Bleach was a very good and somewhat original show, but the quality of the anime really has gone down hill since the end of the Soul Society arc. The worst Anime I remember seeing though was Bastard.

You kids have no idea how lucky you are. I'm not saying your opinions arn't of some bad animes (because I for one agree with the Narutos, and the Bleach picks), but that when I was growing up with anime, there were truely bad animes!

There were two hallmark animes that revolutionized anime of the time, and paved the way for anime today; Akira and Ghost in the Shell. Akira had the most engrossing story in a full length motion picture, and Ghost in the Shell incorperated this while building on that with computer animation. My pick saw none of this.

When I was a kid, these animes were only barely influancing the market. Gologo 13 had come out as a 30 minute spy adventure attempting to mask itself as an animated James Bond. But it had none of the intrigue, or charm of the James anyone knows or loves. It's pacing was all crammed into 30 mins, and still managed to squeese in 3 bad sex scenes (nope, not a hentai either).

Back then, I'd have traded my bad animes for yours. I'd have died for Naruto. Head over heels, and all. Today, I won't touch it, but comparitivly, it's just not as bad as some of the worst in history.

I saw dotHack//sign and it made my head explode because of the crazy storyline. It was even more confusing because I had played the dotHack Games on PS2, and I saw characters that resembled the ones from the game and they were not. And I found out that Hasuo or whatever his name is was also the crazy PKer from the game and Anime.Confusing as fuck.It wasn't a bad Anime, but not good either, not enough action. I've never liked plot-intensive Anime.
The worst I've ever seen was some Volleyball Anime I saw as a little kid. It was basically about girls playing Volleyball.And stuff.Also, the original Naruto was kind of crappy.
Shippuuden on the other hand is( was) awesome until I lost track of the plot.

Both the ps2 .hack games came after their respective anime series'. Also, how is the fact that Sora and Haseo being played by the same person confusing? You know how far apart the two series' are time-wise, right?

The worst I've ever seen has to be Burst Angel. Honestly, Jo is actually pretty cool, but the rest of the show is just utter crap. I wanted to like it, but I just couldn't

It feels like a whole bunch of badly developed characters not acting like ninjas. The action is crappy the story is crappy and the animation is OK at best.

Edit: By the way count the "best" version of the anime you select. Crappy Dub Job does not constitute an anime being bad.

And the worst anime I've seen, was easily Lucky Star.
Easily. And I watched a lot of shit in my time.

Granted that most anime's nowadays are pure crap, but Lucky Star was a special kind of retarded show-thing.

Also, honourable mention to FullMetalAlchemist. Overrated and uninteresting.

bleach was like a bloody shaman king mixed with yu yu hakusho, but it was alright
yu gi oh had its moments occasionally, but the original manga was so much better
pokemon series 1 was cool, as were the films, the rest was shocking... not that i watch it or anything
fma was possibly the greatest anime ever, and am so looking forward to the new series

as for worst, like i said, probably .hack//sign
though ghost in the shell is overrated...
so is one piece and naruto
and sailor freakin moon, that show sucks

Hmmm....

I somewhat agree with all of you. Naruto I couldn't stand UNTIL I got to the Shippudden episodes. God I got tired of Naruto saying "believe it" all the time. In fact, even older Naruto himself got tired of his younger self in a strange cross over. "Oh my god, was I really like this?"

So Naruto...bad....Naruto Shippuden...good.

Pokemon...was good in the first few season, but now it is just redundant and stupid. I only like the old episodes now.

Yu-gi-oh. Liked it, but then got boring after Yu-gi-oh GX and this new one whatever it is called.

Dragonball Z. Oh my god, this show I wanted to kill. I swear they spent half the shows just staring at each other and either moaning or screaming. Trunks was bad-ass and that was the only thing I liked.

I liked One Piece for it's randomness in episodes. I liked Bleach and YuYu Hakusho...like Akira and Evangelion. Like all the Gundams save for Gundam SD.

Watched a show called Gravitation for a while...until I found out it was a "homosexual" anime. Which is fine, but not my cup-o-tea as they say.

Naruto.

It's very existance is an insult to anything even vaguely related to ninjas and only adds to the idiotic notion that anime is only for 8 year olds and younger. Seriously, There is some f***** up shit in alot of anime that no parent in their right mind would ever allow their child to witness. Hell, some even start off seemingly innocent enough in the beginning, but end up so... f*****, that you'll have to send your kid to therapy for 30 years afterwords (School Days, anyone?).

Oh, and Gundam SEED & SEED Destiny.

F****** terrible excuses for Gundam series that damn near killed the entire Gundam franchise for me, seriously, Kira Yamato is the worst lead to have ever existed in anything, ever. Bad mecha designs, shitty characters, and a horrid re-hash of the original Mobile Suit Gundam story for SEED and Zeta Gundam for Destiny didn't help matters much either.

How I managed to sit through the entirety of both series without going insane, blowing up a daycare, and gouging my eyes out with a rusty spoon is beyond me. Seriously, Nobody should have to suffer though crap like that. Nobody.

AND enough with the One Piece hate, an American company butchered it because they thought kids were too dumb to understand stuff, so "hey, let's remove beer, violence and cigarettes, add some annoying accents and uh... piss on the story".
