Looking at my AP account and sorting it out by my ratings, only one items comes top, or should that be bottom, the almighty shitstorm that was Tekken the Motion Manga. Series wise it must be Kokoro Library. It bored me to tears and still dont know how I managed to watch it through to it's shitty conclusion.

Bleach/Naruto/Dragonball haters are just trying to be different, they are no where near the worse animes around.

Anyone wishing to have a look at what I've seen then by all means go here [http://www.anime-planet.com/users/NekroNeko/anime?sort=rating&order=desc&page=1]

The only animes I have watched, are the ones that I like. I never use to like anime, until I met my partner I wouldn't watch it. I've developed an appreciation for it, which I think alot of people lack. There aren't many that I don't like, because I usually refuse to watch something if I don't like the first episode. So it's hard to say I dislike something I haven't actually watched.

to be brutally honest, all modern/new anime is all bullshit.
there was a period in the late 80's/ 90's/ early 200's when anime was good. now it's all aimed at kids. there's not plot and the action is toned down

I know this thread is the worst anime you've seen, but don't forget Sturgeon's Law, most anime mentioned is quite good compared to the stuff you haven't seen.

I've also seen some misconceptions, things I'd argue, and downright baldfaced ignorance. But this stuff get's on my nerves, so I'll be bowing out now.

no it's not all aimed at kids. about the plot and action, I know nothing of 80's anime but given this and the first point, what tells me you're watching dubs?

I can't say that I have a single worst anime series, I tend to dislike ceritain series that have a routine pattern plot that never if hardly ever deviates from that set path.

i/e:
Happy beginning things seem quaint
Internal problem arises/people squabble
External problem rears it's head and big monster/enemy appears
Good guys fight bad guys and emerge victorious
Internal problem is solved with a learned lesson/moral of the story at the end

Just a minor vice of mine. I rarely finish a series that stems into a pattern like that.

If you think it's all geared towards kids, you havn't stumbled accross the same series I have the DvDs of. Or havn't seen a Gundam Series that wasn't Seed or later.

I honestly like the 13 ep Hellsing, Bleach, and FMA. eh. Azumanga Daioh is pretty great, too.

In my opinion, Naruto isn't a bad anime, but it's not one that I would spend weeks watching 100+ episodes to catch up on, unlike I would do with FMA.

I've avoided a lot of animes that people say are bad, but one that I didn't really care for was Inuyasha. It's gotta have the simplest story of all animes. Bad guy causes problems out of malice, heroes chase after him, bad guy barely escapes, repeat as long as people still don't realize that the story is repetative. Seriously, the only thing preventing me from predicting what was gonna happen next was the fact that the author did her own random fillers. Sure it had some charm, but sexual jokes get old fast.

I never said Avatar sucked. I just wondered if it qualified as an anime (as it's american). I do think that they did a better job with the whole "elements" thing than other shows though.

First of all, I'd like to say as a lurker I've read many forums on the Escapist but this one has finally caught my eye enough for me to make an account and respond.

Now, I think this will be easier for me if I categorize what I believe to be good and bad as far as anime go.

Good:
~Hellsing (The TV Series): For being unofficial, I found them to be very good. Few characters cooler then Alucard, in my humble opinion.
~FLCL: Is what I believe most anime should be, lots of fun with a message people can interpret differently and relate to.
~Air Gear: Okay, this one is almost exactly like Beyblade, but for me, it somehow has a sense of charm that just makes me smile at it every episode.
~Almost Anything Hyper and WTF?: This is probably just me, but I grow pretty weary of how dreary real life can be and other things I am into (40K), just takes all the GRIMDARK out of me.
~Code Geass & Most Things W/ Giant Robots: I love giant robots. But even higher then my fandom of Gundam is Code Geass. Just the style of it or something makes me enjoy it well enough for me to go buy DVD's of it.

Bad:
~Death Note: I honestly don't know what it is, but it's so unappealing to me. L is the only thing in it that makes me chuckle from time to time.
~Bleach: Another one that rubs me the wrong way, and here's where it gets confusing to most people (and myself). I dislike it a ton, but I catch myself watching it often. As with L from Death Note, a character from this one (it being Kenny), makes me see it as less than total shit.
~Elfen Lied: Tried to watch it...I-I just couldn't. No further questions! D<

Now to clear up something...
G Gundam WAS bad. But that's what made it so appealing, in my opinion. It was so bad, hilariously bad, almost to (and maybe past) the border of self-parody. I mean, has anyone played Dynasty Warriors Gundam to the end of Domon's campaign? You can't tell me that ending, nonetheless most of the cinematics with Domon, was meant to be not taken seriously. Honestly.

Afro Samurai...I;m sorry if anyone likes it, but i just can't stand it, I watched a couple of episodes, even tried the demo for the game that out and i thought it was horrible. Just bored me.
