First of all, I'd like to say as a lurker I've read many forums on the Escapist but this one has finally caught my eye enough for me to make an account and respond.
Now, I think this will be easier for me if I categorize what I believe to be good and bad as far as anime go.
Good:
~Hellsing (The TV Series): For being unofficial, I found them to be very good. Few characters cooler then Alucard, in my humble opinion.
~FLCL: Is what I believe most anime should be, lots of fun with a message people can interpret differently and relate to.
~Air Gear: Okay, this one is almost exactly like Beyblade, but for me, it somehow has a sense of charm that just makes me smile at it every episode.
~Almost Anything Hyper and WTF?: This is probably just me, but I grow pretty weary of how dreary real life can be and other things I am into (40K), just takes all the GRIMDARK out of me.
~Code Geass & Most Things W/ Giant Robots: I love giant robots. But even higher then my fandom of Gundam is Code Geass. Just the style of it or something makes me enjoy it well enough for me to go buy DVD's of it.
Bad:
~Death Note: I honestly don't know what it is, but it's so unappealing to me. L is the only thing in it that makes me chuckle from time to time.
~Bleach: Another one that rubs me the wrong way, and here's where it gets confusing to most people (and myself). I dislike it a ton, but I catch myself watching it often. As with L from Death Note, a character from this one (it being Kenny), makes me see it as less than total shit.
~Elfen Lied: Tried to watch it...I-I just couldn't. No further questions! D<
Now to clear up something...
G Gundam WAS bad. But that's what made it so appealing, in my opinion. It was so bad, hilariously bad, almost to (and maybe past) the border of self-parody. I mean, has anyone played Dynasty Warriors Gundam to the end of Domon's campaign? You can't tell me that ending, nonetheless most of the cinematics with Domon, was meant to be not taken seriously. Honestly.
