Pretty much any boss fight with a timer, specifically the final boss in Prototype since that timer pissed me off so fucking much!
I have to disagree. I LOVED the GlaDOS fight at the end of Portal, and that whole encounter is on a timer.

The final boss frokm Ninja Gaiden2. No onw has the time to kill that bastard.

I've lost count as to how my times I've said that in threads like these.
This ^

You know this boss is trouble when the aspect of LUCK is very much tied to actually beating him...

Killing the Hivemind in Dead Space really disapointed me as a final boss. I really think they called that one in. Shoot the 5 yellow pulsing tumors... then dodge some tentacles. The shoot 5 more while dodging tentacles... then victory. The tension of that game built beautifully especially the sequence of carrying the beacon to it's final destination... and you know the final showdown is coming... and then that fight is just too easy.

The first boss in Majora's Mask.

No visible pattern
Annoying music and sounds
Just... annoying...

The third boss was a bloody frustrating nightmare as well.

The Boost Guardian from Metroid Prime 2 isn't a bad fight per se, just far too hard considering how early it turns up in the game. Beating it on Hard is a pain.

The final boss of Bioshock was pretty disappointing, as was the final boss of Dead Space. The latter was enormous and epic...until I realised it was ludicrously easy to beat.

I am young and haven't played thousands of games like most of you. But I can't get past the final boss fight in Prototype.

If you count Zakhaev in Cod 4, then him too
Not so. Zakhaev was quite an awesome boss battle under the circumstances.
I agree under the circumstances he was but im simply saying that the big boss shouldnt die so easy. When you take away the suspense of the action, it is merely a one button, one shot kill.

In Guild Wars, Nightfall, you have to fight both Final bosses of the previous two games. Thats really sucks.

One of the first boss fights on FF8. The Galbadian(?) spider robot thing after biggs and wedge. Run through the opening section too quick and he will kick your ass all day long :p

Stupid robot...

In terms of greatest boss fight, gotta be the End, MGS3. 3 Hours of pure, pants-soaking tension.
Er... you run from that. You're not supposed to fight it. At all. Ever.
Whoops, still, I'll take it as a lesson in perseverance. That said Iirc you cant avoid that fight completely. Either that or its just an illsutration of my lack of ability at the time.

The Hive Tyrant Alpha in Dawn of War 2. I mean, if you're gonna give me all my squads, at least make me *need* them.

Given I was only playing on Sergeant difficulty...

Wow, you people love to complain over nothing <.<

Just face facts, the bosses most of you are complaining over are at least decent, or have much better "secret optional final boss" alternatives, but after going all the way through a game you enjoy there's almost nothing that can satisfy you for a final boss just because you've hyped yourself up all the way to that point.

That being said, the closest you can really get to a "bad" final boss is if the true final boss of the storyline (not including optional bosses) more or less cannot be lost due to whatever reason, be it it's a scripted fight or whatever.

Example: Yu Yevon of FFX, everybody automatically gets auto resurection cast on them. So the only way to lose the fight even if you were level 1 would be to self petrify your entire team. However, Braska's final aeon, the arena fights and the dark aeons (and especially pennance) more than make up for him.

@ Flying-emu:
To see the true ending, complete the game with all beam katanas obtained. If you do not have them all by the end of the game, choose to return to Santa Destroy, obtain them, and return to a bathroom to view it.

I once played this Spiderman game (I don't remember which one) and there was a part where you walked into a convenience store and saw Mysterio. An epic cutscene ensued, and at the end of the cutscene, they let you take over at controls, as with all boss fights in the game. I punch him once and he turns into a puff of smoke. Fight over.
See, that's my favorite boss fight. Best part that his life bar filled up three times, you think it's going to be epic. You punch him once and all three bars drain, and then you remember "hey, that makes sense. Because Mysterio is a *****!".

C'mon, it was a pretty funny subversion of videogame expectations.
