Borderlands, it leaves so many questions unanswered and the boss fight was too easy. I killed it, and I thought, "Maybe I get to take on another thing, or get the Infity+1 gun or something" no I got no closure and I cried that night....

Halo 2. Actually, any ending where nothing is accomplished in the game, or everyone dies/makes the whole thing pointless.
Im about to defend Halo and its not the first...odd
Its the middle. Its ending is just the latter side of Master Cheif's story. Try closing a book halfway through and say that ending sucked...makes no sense.

OT: Probably the original Fallout 3 ending.
B-b-buttt.... I loved that game... what about Broken Steel?
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Broken_Steel
It was a fun game, I LOVE THE GAME. But the ending without any addons was really lame.

Fahrenheit, easily. Great plot until the last moments, which (as has been stated countless times) just screams of being rushed last-minute.

Failing that, Condemned 2. That game makes me sad, for all the wrong reasons. Effectively killed a good series for me.

Man where do I begin....lol. Yeh, I love the Assassin's Creed I and II games a lot, but seriously, the first one, the ending seemed like it was unrelated to the rest of the game almost. That was after Yahtzee so adequately describes, " Assassin's are a small part of the game, but I guess 'Faffing About Creed' doesn't have the same ring to it..." Anyway, back to the worst ending bit.

SPOILERS, BUT THEN HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE FREAKIN' SPOILERS IN THIS THREAD? LOL

With Assasin's II I throughly liked the whole game, but yeh, that final boss fight would've been better if it was AN ASSASSINATION, I swear, I restarted there like 15+ times, b/c my throwing knives and pistol weapon didn't kill him, I thought I was having a glitch.

Force Unleashed is another one I enjoy, but seriously, either you die as a good guy for the Star Wars Movies' plot to work, or you be a jack@ss and basically replace Vader, and losing all your skills LIKE VADER TOO. WTF, so much for a Force Prodigy who kicked the Chosen One/Vader's ass, lol.

Modern Warfare II, amazing game, but I swear before I threw the knife at that jackass I thought it was a repeat of the scene where he betrayed my character and burned my corpse after fighting off 50+ guys in all directions. Cool plot twist ideas, but infuriating. (I think this one can go under the worst deaths forum discussion too, lol)

Finally, God of War III, and as with the others, I see a trend of really good games not being able to end right. Seriously, From start up until I defeated Zeus in the end of the 3rd God of War, I enjoyed it and pretty much beat all three within a week (bought this summer, the PS3 collection and 3rd), but wat was my reward for my efforts, I destroy the entire planet for redemption for Kratos's wife and child? Yeh....... seems like those flashback nightmares would get worse after that even if he "died."

I feel I rambled/or got into my 1 reply a tad much....

Borderlands. I love the game, but... That was just a really, really bad ending. And no, it wasn't about the story, the story wasn't good to begin with, but... Even knowing that, it was just a horribly pathetic attempt.

Oh, and Tales of Symphonia.

On another note, I've absolutely NEVER understood all of the hate on BioShock's ending. The final boss? Yeah, ok. But the ending? I've just never understood why people seem to hate it so much. I really liked it. How'd you want it to end?

And, while I can understand the hate behind Fable II's... As someone already states, I found it to be hilarious.

How'd I forget this one? Most definitely this. I didn't know what was going on the entire time.

Fable 2. I went in expecting an epic fight, all I got was a button hold and a box. It sucked.

Borderlands wasn't much for story. I wasn't expecting much of an ending to be honest.

You hated Tales of Symphonia's ending? I liked it. Seemed to clean up the hanging plot threads neatly and efficiently.
At least, until Dawn of the New World decided to start with its civil war crap with "Lloyd" killing people from Palmacosta of all places.

I didn't like Bioshock's good ending because the atmosphere of it was so jarring. You took all the nice people from that evil place and now they're all happy, sunshine and rainbows everywhere. I never saw the bad ending.

Fable II's ending was... okay.
I liked the dream sequence, and how it showed how your character grew, even showing what he actually looked like at various points of the game. The part where you take down Lucien, however, was underwhelming. No final boss? Really? And then Theresa takes over the Spire in return for you getting your dog back? (Yes, I picked the family card.) Lame.

It was, however, completely awesome if you decided to wait for Lucien to finish his monologue. Reaver saying the equivalent of "fuck this," shooting Lucien for you, and then going "Oh, I'm sorry, did you want the glory of taking him down?" was his absolute best moment as a character. Especially since he was voiced by Stephen Fry.

Fuck you Atlus, You could have made the end to Persona 3 ambiguous but you have to add that fucking graduation scene. I've never cried during a game, I did then.
So why is this here ? .. I mean if it actually touched you that much then it was a good ending, unless of course it made you cry because of how bad it was :p ( and yes I finished it and think it was great, too bad P3 FES took a big piss all over it :( )

And ontopic ... well Fallout 3 certainly qualifies as one of the worse endings, but then again most of the story was crap so it wasn't that much of a let down when the end came, but I don't remember something else at this point so I guess I'll go with Fallout 3

Yeah... I edited that part. Either way, it was really pathetic even though I didn't imagine it having a good ending.

Eh, I was... -kinda- kidding about ToS. It is one of my favorite games. However, I was more referring to the VERY ending. The ending as a whole is fine, except for the final boss. I found the final boss to be sort of underwhelming.

Generally people ARE happy at the ending, though... How else could they have really done the ending?

Yeah, I agree with what you said about Fable 2. The moment with Reaver was the part that I found awesome for it, and I actually think it made up for the rest. XD

If you're talking about the part where Tabitha turns into Mana, and has the conversation with Lloyd and Colette, I don't really mind that too much. It was kinda neat, seeing as Tabitha was meant to be a vessel for Martel, and became something more. The fact that the audio cut out right when Lloyd, when asked to come up with a new name for the Kharlan tree, said "I will name it..." was annoying, though.

The sad part is that one of my friends never saw it, despite beating the game.
He pulled the trigger on Lucien the instant he could. Shame how some of the best Easter Eggs can go completely unnoticed for some.

Oh, yeah. My opinion for worst ending ever. Halo 2.

"WHAT!? Finish the fight! God damn you Bungie! I paid 60 dollars... *sniff* Damn you Bungie."

Agreed, but Rockstar always has that problem with game story lines, just look at the ENTIRE GTA series. I am of course referring to why you have to play that character.

Fable 2.
It didn't end it just went "Theres the bad-guy you hate, who forgot to upgrade toughness and can be one-shot killed now"

Then you get the Fable 2 Choice thing, which as usual goes
1. Become the Angel Gabriel
2. Eat a Puppy
3. Eat a smaller less cute animal - your still a douche but less of a douche

And then nothing.
At all.
No change, no point, just free roam around the rest of the shit game just to make sure you've collected all the shit.
