There was this one time in the eight grade where I was horribly, horribly sick. We never figured it out, just chalked it up to a severe case of a head cold and stomach bug. But I couldn't be in a room with any lights on or else I'd just have to shut my eyes, I threw up regularly and that in and of itself was horrible. My whole body shook and...just blegh. I was also freezing, freezing cold. At night I had to have four very thick blankets thrown on me so I could be warm.

it's nothing compared to the other things in this thread, but being colourblind really sucks as someone who plays games alot.

Angina. It's a bacterial infection of the throat and it means that every time you try to swallow (which is way more than you think it is) it feels like someone's stabbing your throat. It's the only time I can remember that I didn't eat for several days in a row.

You're... you're melting! *runs away* *kyaaaaaaa* (That's me screaming like a little girl, if you didn't get it! =P )

That's not another medical condition you have, is it?! (A liability to melt...)

Now that I think on it, though... erythropoietic protoporphyria... not pleasant, even if it wasn't me who had it...

One of my sperm ducts tied itself in a knot. I was in agony every time I moved my legs. I had to get surgery. Down there. THINK ABOUT IT.

Lower Lumbar Trauma,

In other words I injured the muscles in the lower part of my back. It was really bad, I was stuck in bed, unable to move, couldnt even role from side to side.

It happened early in the morning shortly after my wife left for work. I was stuck on the ground face down for about 4 hours. At that point my back was "well" enough that I could inch my 10 feet to my bedroom. That inching took 1.5 hours. Then another 30 minutes trying to get up into my bed, which was excrutiating.

It was summer time, and we only had window AC units, which were turned off when I was injured. So it was sweltering, no ac, windows were closed, and I could not get any water. I could not reach a phone, the remote to the TV, or well anything. I sat there until my wife came home something like 6 hours later. The only lucky thing was that I did not have breakfast at that point, so I did not need to go number 2, but as for number 1, I had to try and lean slightly to my right off the bed, and...pee on the floor. I did not get out of that bed for 3 days. I ate almost nothing, so that I would not have to go number 2(which I was able to hold off for those 3 days, was not easy).

Then on the 3rd day I slowly made my way to the bathroom which was 15 feet away. This took half an hour. Then another 5 minutes or so trying to seat myself on the seat...then another 30 trying to get back up. Once I made it back to bed, I laughed/cried uncontrolably for quite a while, simply because I was so happy I was able to go to the bathroom, so happy that I was able to stand up, even if just barely. Total recovery took something like 3 to 4 months. The pain was so severe I, at one point, considered suicide, as in "actually" considered it. Never considered actually killing myself before, or since. Suicide is that type of thing I am sure most or all of us had thought about, but only a few ever find themselves seriously considering it. Luckily I was so crippled I could not find a way to do it. I just kept telling myself, "this will get better, this will get better" and thankfully it did.

The bright side is, that eventually I was able to make a full recovery.

Oh, ingrown toenail, ouch. I lived with both my big toes like that for about a year but eventually it got too sore and I had them removed. Permanently. So worth it.

So yeah, it's either that or having food poisoning while my family was on a week-long boating holiday. Not pretty. It got so bad that I got land-sickness. The one time I tried to stay on land for more than ten minutes I ended up sitting out Spar crying and shaking because I was so dizzy I couldn't stand. But at least it didn't last for the entire week, just the first three days.

na just a dehydration problem. though i think the 5 one gallon jugs of water and the 2 liter bottle of water that i have on/around my bed should help with that and the 6 pack of gatorade.

melting because its too damn hot out here.

Ouch I had a similar encounter since it was too sore for the injection needle to make it numb so I felt what they did to it during the operation (it wasn't that bad in that they had to removes my toenails).

Othe than that the second more worst/ irritating thing is bowel related prolems. Ok sure it doesn't sound bad but I often think it could be a serious problem. I guess I'm just being paranoid.

When I was 8, I tried to get something from the top of my parents dresser and ended up having the thing crushing me, breaking both of my legs and nose. On the plus side, my electric wheelchair was awesome!

Edit: I have cluster headaches. Do you know how much fun it is to wake up at 2 A.M with your head ready to explode? On the plus side, eating pudding seems to calm it down for some reason, so I have an excuse to keep 20 packages in my cupboards at all times.

IBS and lactose intolerance.

I LOVE cheese as much as any other borderline sane person, but now I can't have any at all or embarrassment ensues, as with all dairy. And now both curry and fish is off the table too. And this makes it really hard to buy a sandwich, especially when I don't eat chicken... There are NO sandwiches out there that don't have chicken/fish/cheese!!

I'm surprised this hasn't come up yet: Acne.

By far the most annoying medical condition I have ever had, and mine wasn't bad at all.

/vanity +10/

As for the worst, Im going to have to say my simultaneous concussion, broken leg and dislocated shoulder.

Also this gets my 2nd choice. I haven't had this specifically, but I have broken my coccyx. That is sooo annoying because there is just NO way to get comfortable!

Eczema's a pain in the ass, that's about it.
The thing I hate about eczema is that not only is it irritating and itchy, but I once got it really bad on my face and hands - so it was disfiguring too! Which for a 16 year old girl is pretty disheartening. Fortunately it went away, but I'm sure it'll be back at some point...

Nickel allergy. I've had these red itchy bumps on my stomach for about 3.5 years now just because of a bloody belt.
