Lower Lumbar Trauma,
In other words I injured the muscles in the lower part of my back. It was really bad, I was stuck in bed, unable to move, couldnt even role from side to side.
It happened early in the morning shortly after my wife left for work. I was stuck on the ground face down for about 4 hours. At that point my back was "well" enough that I could inch my 10 feet to my bedroom. That inching took 1.5 hours. Then another 30 minutes trying to get up into my bed, which was excrutiating.
It was summer time, and we only had window AC units, which were turned off when I was injured. So it was sweltering, no ac, windows were closed, and I could not get any water. I could not reach a phone, the remote to the TV, or well anything. I sat there until my wife came home something like 6 hours later. The only lucky thing was that I did not have breakfast at that point, so I did not need to go number 2, but as for number 1, I had to try and lean slightly to my right off the bed, and...pee on the floor. I did not get out of that bed for 3 days. I ate almost nothing, so that I would not have to go number 2(which I was able to hold off for those 3 days, was not easy).
Then on the 3rd day I slowly made my way to the bathroom which was 15 feet away. This took half an hour. Then another 5 minutes or so trying to seat myself on the seat...then another 30 trying to get back up. Once I made it back to bed, I laughed/cried uncontrolably for quite a while, simply because I was so happy I was able to go to the bathroom, so happy that I was able to stand up, even if just barely. Total recovery took something like 3 to 4 months. The pain was so severe I, at one point, considered suicide, as in "actually" considered it. Never considered actually killing myself before, or since. Suicide is that type of thing I am sure most or all of us had thought about, but only a few ever find themselves seriously considering it. Luckily I was so crippled I could not find a way to do it. I just kept telling myself, "this will get better, this will get better" and thankfully it did.
The bright side is, that eventually I was able to make a full recovery.
