Lord of the rings. The movie took 30 minutes to end. Most excruciating 30 minutes of my life.
The movies were great, except for that ending... Oh god THAT ending...

I never got around to the book, I found the film first... It's an issue King has always had though, often he has a good idea, but man his endings are crap.

Avatar, so predictable. This is my opinion, please don't flame Thanks! :D
I hated the hollywood deus ex machina ending too, until I thought about what the sequel would be like (well at least in my mind):

Humans coming back with 100000 more troops and nuking their planet from orbit before they pillage it for all its natural resources. All this happens in the first 15 minutes and the movie still makes 3 billion dollars.

Any movie that would explain the entire plot by letting the main character wake up and go "It's all a dream! Good Lord, bless everyone!"

Let me check my DVD list, I'm bound to find one movie at least that had a bad ending ...

War of the Worlds. That was such a letdown.

I actually loved the movie. Yes, including the ending. Then again: I am not familiar with the comic books so I don't know how faithful they were towards the source material.

It. It was a giant spider? And they killed it by beating it to death?
It's more irritating because the movie is my favorite horror movie and Pennywise is my favorite antagonist.

A Sound of Thunder. good short story, bad movie.
... There's a movie?
Yeah, but don't bother. The writers had kind of an idea that science exists, but they had never encountered it. Besides, if you've read the story, you know the twist. Although the image of bullet-proof ape-dinosaurs roaming a ruined city is pretty cool.

I loved the movie, and I have to agree with you there:

It kept zooming in on his face and I was like "Dont open your eyes and cut to black, DON'T OPEN YOUR EYES AND CUT TO BLA- AWWWWW WHAT THE HELL?" The rest of the movie was great, but the ending was kind of lame...

Yeah, War of the Worlds was pretty awful all the way through... The ending to "The Day The Earth Stood Still" pissed me off! (actually the entire movie did)

EDIT: Oh shit, I forgot, I too was a bit disappointed at the ending to Watchmen, but now I feel that it actually works (for the most part, anyway ^^) And Joa, you should read the book! even though you know most of the story, it's fucking fantastic!

In recent memory, Knowing. Ugh.

I would like to go on record saying I prefer the no-squid ending of Watchmen.
Did anyone notice the panel labeled "S.Q.U.I.D."?

Agreeded, but it wasn't because of the tentacle monster that ending was full of fail. It was just a really, really bad scene, and the tentacle monsters replacement just doesn't make sense in the long run.
