Ingrown toe nail...
Easily treated, but I don't like doctors much, so I left it. Then after a day with lots of walking, running around and just basically using my foot, the nail was well and truly deep inside my toe. I could not put my foot to the floor and pain was shooting up my leg.
Naturally it got infected, and naturally, I looked at my hugely swollen big toe with contempt. How dare it treat me like this after I've fed and loved it for 19 years?
My toe was to badly swollen for me to do anything with the normal nail gear to remove the toe nail, but the parts where it had swollen were a bit numb, so I got a pair of scissors and just cut a part of the toe off, the part that goes down the side of the nail, made a huge flap of skin, peeled it back and just cut the nail off and yanked out the bit that was sticking in.
Now the blood was flowing, but I felt all happy, sweaty and delerious from my DIY home surgery, one paper towel later (Bounty/Plenty.... one sheet, you know? for the blood) and a pair of paracetamol and I was fine. Hurt the next day, but I've never had trouble with my toe again.
On reflection, I'm really very lucky I did not get blood poisoning, or something much worse.

I broke my back in a horse riding accident when I was 14. I got thrown and cracked it over a fallen log (I was facing the sky and went into a "n" shape). Funny thing is i got up and ran 3 steps before realising I couldnt feel (or use) my legs. Took me a year to walk again.
I also dislocated my shoulder and crushed my right elbow in another incident too. But the dislocated shoulder hurt the most. I almost threw up the pain was so bad.
Riding horses is awesome, luckily I've never fallen, thank goodness for these meaty thighs!
