Red Dead Redemption...
Well, do you think it is worse than Red Dead Revolver? It's not really a bad sequel if its better than the original :O And while I think it's veery overrated, I still think they did a good job on it.

To be honest? Truly? Halo 3. It doesn't hold a damn bar of magnitude of fun that Halo 2 brought. I really wish Microsoft hadn't pulled the plug on the old Xbox Live.
And Reach? (Halo 2 made dual-wielding popular, and dual needlers was too awesome)

Red Dead Redemption...
Any reason why?(Sorry if others asked already) I haven't played Red Dead Revolver, so what makes RDR worse than RDR?

Game: pick a recent Sonic, or Mega Man, or any other rape of a classic character.
id agree with you on the mega man front with the starforce crap and the like, but i must disagree completly with mega man 9 and 10.

anyway, far cry 2. the game had so much potential but in the end the poorly executed design choices and the fact that its 50 square km of nothing just made it boring and fustrating. that and the mounds of problems it has THAT WERE NEVER FIXED just made it one of the worst games ive ever played, and i went into it wanting to love it too.

it improved on far cry in the dialogue and voices departments (though the actors showed no emotion and an addiction to valium in their delivery of their lines). but in every other regard i feel that despite being quite different far cry was the superior game, other than that fc2 didnt have gigantic mutants with rocket launchers for arms.

Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight, hands down, IMO.

EA completely dismantled the tech tree and base building. I've played C&C since I was 7 years old, and they completely destroyed the basic building premise, which the series HELPED TO DEFINE IN RTSs. I couldn't even finish the game. I ended up reading how it ended on a wiki. I honestly don't know why they changed it. They kept C&C 3 and its expansion the same, and I liked them a lot. Kane's Wrath (the expansion to C&C 3) was probably the best RTS port to a console I've ever played (as far as adapting the controls went), and I loved the story. I played Command & Conquer 4, and after the third level, I just couldn't take it anymore. A bit of my childhood died that day.
I played the command and conquers from an early age, as you, but didn't felt dissapointed by the 4th.
they attepted to go a different, more creative way.
they broke the barrier of the normal shit.
but, alas, it wasn't C&C, I felt it was more like "gigant robot shit bases with teams: the game", so just stop thinking of it as a C&C game and be happy :D
(BTW the story did suck, but almost all command and conquer games had a sukish esteriotiped story, at least the with their enemy)

Barely. It has almost nothing to do with Revolver though. Only one location is the same, but Im not even sure if its just the same name or not (Twin Rocks)

Gotta be Mercenaries 2. Seriously the gulf in quality between game 1 and 2 has never been greater, though Perfect Dark Zero comes awfully close.

Far Cry 2. Took a fun open colourful openworld/sandbox style shooter from far cry and created a poo brown boring overly vehicled pile of arse.
I'll admit that everything in Far Cry 1 up until the mutants was better than all of Far Cry 2, but as a whole I enjoy FC2 more, so sue me.

I don't think I saw anyone say this:
Bioshock 2
the story was a train wreck. the first one was set up as the Industrial Ryan, who set up a moralless society but with restrictions and an unbalanced government versus the Finacial Fontiane, who raises a rebellion of the scarred and regetted members of the society funded by his different buiseness ventures legal and illegal. But in the sequal, it pretends like there was a third party there the whole time, who has the other to affriad, and is characterized with little depth.
Aside from that not all bad
Honestly, the original didn't leave much room for a third party and as a result 2K Marin had to do the best they could with almost no room in the story. I'll admit the story was somewhat lacking and the atmosphere that Irrational created in the first game that everyone fell in love with was gone, it was still a great game. In its own merits Bioshock 2's story was great, just not too good when trying to relate back to the first game.

No Explanation needed
I've been here for years and you're the first person I've ever seen that has put Gears 2 in the same category as a Sonic game. There's a first time for everything I suppose.

I read it in this guys voice :p http://coffeepapertweet.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/comic-book-guy.jpg

I can't really think of a sequel that I felt was strictly BAD. I've seen a lot of sequels go out of line from the last game and feel like completely different games, but different and "I don't get it" are far from the same things as bad. So I guess I'm lucky, I've managed to avoid playing strictly bad games :p

The Dark Knight, just kidding.

OT: I wasn't a big fan of the Spiderman 2, not sure if it's the worst but it's the only one I can come up with right now.

Devil May Cry 2 and Resident Evil 5. Good going Crapcom.
Xenosaga 2
Final Fantasy X-2, pretty much all of them after 6 though. (With me personally excusing 7.)
Red Dead Redemption
Metroid: Other M
Perfect Dark Zero

And if we're talking absolutely the worst sequel ever, nothing matches Zelda 2 ever.

Fallout 3
Oblivion
Baldur's Gate 2
Dungeon Siege 2

... I wouldn't say *worst* sequel ever, but none of them lived up to their predecessors.
