Good music depends on the genre to me and I'm very eclectic in my musical tastes. But some of the older rock or pop I enjoy:

The Righteous Brothers, Simon and Garfunkel, Quincy Jones, Marvin Gaye, The Eagles, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimmy Buffett, The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Doors, The Beach Boys (awesome harmonies) and I could continue.

The Beatles were a stepping stone for some of them, but while I like a song or two of theirs, their music, lyrics, and vocals just strike me as blah and weak. I respect the doors they opened, but think them vastly overrated. I know you're a Lennon fan and I apologize if I've offended, but I just can't join you in your enthusiasm for a band that wasn't that great.

Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance is just awful. I can't stand the singer's voice and it always get stuck in my head.

I'm more of a McCartney and Harrison fan but I like this pic.
I don't mind if you don't personally like them but you're saying they're over-rated and that they can't do anything music related with any skill, I know a few people who are stereotypical chavs and can't stand them, but even they arn't so dissillusioned as to say the Beatles arn't the biggest and most important thing to happen to modern music.

Hate them by all means but calling them ''A band that wasn't that great.'' is just wrong.

Oh, I'm not saying that they didn't do great things for music. They hit at the right time and place and I'm not saying they didn't have skill. But, I'm saying that they are over-rated for the skill they had. I do like McCartney, but they just don't appeal to me. I've tried to like 'em, but don't.

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you?

Do you ever wanna run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming?

No, you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like to be like me

To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life

Do you wanna be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more
Before your life is over?

Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around
With their big fake smiles and stupid lies
While deep inside you're bleeding?

No, you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like to be like me

To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life

No one ever lied straight to your face
And no one ever stabbed you in the back
You might think I'm happy
But I'm not gonna be okay
Everybody always gave you what you wanted
You never had to work
It was always there
You don't know what it's like
What it's like

To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like
(What it's like)

To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life

DEAR GOD MAKE IT STOP!!!

A LOT of songs from the 80's. It was filled with hair metal and synth pop backed by a drum beat that gave me a headache. It was almost as bad as this decade's current state of music, which has mindless bubblegum pop and hip-hop that has become stale and pretentious (well, most of it; I kinda liked Eminem and Kanye West).

On a side-note: How can someone think the Beatles suck/are overrated? You can have your opinions, but I'm still shocked.

apparently none of you have heard the sheer and utter horror that is Disco Duck. I can't make this up it is a disco song (strike one), the main singer has a duck puppet singing (strike two), and the duck puppet sounds like Donald Duck if he were to dress in 70's clothes (strike mother f*&$ing three). Hear this musical abomination yourself.

I have no idea what its called, but it went like this:

"a song is a poem in your no-ose, no-ose, no-ose,
a song is a poem in your e-ear, e-ear, e-ear..."

and it just went on like that...

Well, I might have to go with "They Say" by scars on broadway. I absolutely love System Of a Down, but honestly I have no clue how Daron could screw up so bad. It's got by far the most mediocre guitaring, drumming, and bass I've ever heard in my life, not to mention the singing and lyrics are just.... Out of it. Not good. I feel bad for John, because he had to make drum tabs to "go with" the guitar riff. This means repetition. A lot of repetition. And a single drum fill at the beginning.

Other than that, I despise most nu metal, rap metal, rap rock, rap, pop, emo, "pop punk" which is now today's new emo, alt rock, local bands, and much more. Basically nearly everything you hear on the radio I dislike.

Kid Rock's "All Summer Long"

So let me get this straight, Mr. Rock. You decided to combine "Werewolves of London" and "Sweet Home Alabama" to sing about Flint, Michigan (because London, Alabama, and Flint are all the same place apparently) and then sing about how Sweet Home Alabama is a nostalgic song...about Michigan.

Yeah, good luck with that.
what he said.
Personal opinion i suppose,

I'm loving it, and i suppose it's recent success illustrates that 9/10 people like it as well.
