Would you buy a Call of Duty game if you got to play as a Nazi?

People always forget that Nazi soldiers were drafted, they didn't choose to be a Nazi, they were forced. Anyone high-ranking were the ones who knew about what went on behind the scenes.

But I would love to play a game from that perspective. Backlash would be pretty hilarious to see too.

Sure I would love to stroke my German pride as I kick Europe's ass.
I hope your joking.
Now why would I be joking?
You'd kick ass for a long time ... and then of course the walls come crashing down, but hey interesting twist on the genre of 'let's always kill national socialists and japanese'.

Companies will continue to create WW2 games and when they do they need to innovate to get hype and their product sold.

There have been plenty of games in the past in which you play characters who are the bad guys. Granted these are some really 'still burning in hell' types of guys, but they were still very formidable.

Fun fact: Nazi Germany was the first government to heavily push a smoking ban with great success. RAUCHEN VERBOTEN!

I think it would be interesting to play as a gestapo agent. That would be heavily dark and brooding, but mighty interesting

Basically this - The main German army were just conscripts, and even the higher ranking officers weren't all bad, it was more the hierarchical departments. I think itd be a refreshing change from the usual "Lets kill Germans".

Speaking of which, offtopic, but you all know how TakeTwo was accused of making Mafia 2 racist because it depicted Italian Americans as criminals? Why not accuse Treyarch and Infinity Ward of making COD Games racist against Germans? :)

Will there be a part of this game where I have to go visit Pavlov's house? And have it as a multiplayer map like in CoD 1 and 2? And does it not suck? And does it play like CoD 1 and 2? Then yes I would buy it, I miss Pavlov's house.

Edit: It has to be made by Greymatter

I would probably stop hating activision (again) long enough to buy that. I could use some ridiculously dark gritty game, and playing as a nazi (I mean like full blown SS) is just the oppurtunity for that. you have to kill some political dissidents, then some jews, then drive a tiger tank (i always wanted to do that) throw some "dont get blown up by the endless stream of bombers overhead" mission, and you got yourself a good idea.

Its like Yahtzee said in that theres no point in playing ww2 games cause you already know who is going to win!

... or in this case lose!

No, doing so would just communicate the message, "Look! Look! We're EDGY!! Do you see our edgyness? How about now? Hey, you're not watching our edgyness!"

There are a few things we don't need reenacted by video games. The Holocaust is not one of them.

[sub][sub]No wonder gamers have such bad reputations.[/sub][/sub]

Personally I love WWII games so I wouldn't really care what side I was fighting on. But it would also be interesting to fight in the German army and participate in the Blitzkrieg tactics that let them dominate Europe.

I wouldn't play CoD anyways. "Realistic" war shooters tend to bore me quickly since i have seen everything countless times before.

I wouldn't buy a Call of Duty game full stop. CoD 2 was the last good game in that series.

I should probably clear somethings up,
1: It doesn't have to be a C.O.D. game, that was just putting a name to a face becasue it's a popular francise.
2: I'm not trying to glorify Nazi's, they were murdering evil scum and the game could show that. It was more a chance for something different than American or Britain again.
3: OK the concentration camp might be a little too much but I figured it would help the immersion. War is hell but in most games you're a trigger happy marine and so you forget this. Having the game boldfacely tell you to kill an innocent man just to continue playing puts you in the right frame of mind.
I apologize for offence and thank you for your comments, I like the idea about the bomb defening you that would work quite well.
