Would you throw yourself on a grenade?

If I have enough time to dive out of the window or get to the grenade, why don't we have the time to just get out of the room? Would diving on the grenade really prevent it from killing everyone besides me?

Well, I would throw the grenade out the window, and if that did not work properly, then I would just out the window, thus saving myself. If I did cover the grenade with my own body, would that even save them though?

No real reason to save random strangers except for the greater good, though I have a lot to live for at the moment. Maybe if I was in a very suicidal state, then it would be different.

You can say "I'd throw myself on the grenade to save the others" all you want, but when it comes down to it, given the chance, people will always choose to live (assuming you're not suffering from severe depression etc...)

They're strangers, one could be a serial killer, other one a member of the Ku Klux Klan, another a Nazi, and i dunno the other ones Michael Atkinson. I know nothing about them so i'd jump out the window.

I'll admit, when I first read this, my first two choices were either "pull the pin and throw it back" or "throw the grenade out the window." But, if pressed, I'd take the window as a sign I'm the only one there meant to live, and not look a gift horse in the mouth.

Honestly, if a grenade suddenly became a part of my life, I'd probably just freak, panic, then promptly be ripped to shreds.

But if I had the idea to actually DO SOMETHING, I'd jump out.

If any of these people were my friends though, I'd most certainly jump on it. I really think they'd do the same for me too. Most of my friends are really close.
