RPGs (and MMORPGs especially) aren't about quick exciting thrills and violence. It's a progressive experience that builds and builds as your character does. As you learn more and more about the world and what populates it you become attached to it and your character. It isn't about a single battle with a giant rat in the forest or something, you need to take the game in it's entirety before you can have a genuine opinion of a MMORPG.
