We do not need these threads here, please do not bring them.

I like the xbox.
No matter how many times it breaks, I can fix it easily for no charge.
You can fix XBOX's easily for no charge? What?

Flamebait, anyway here's my opinion.

If you like to play online games with tons of re-playability and DLC, and don't mind spending the extra 50 bucks a year then go for the x360.

If, on the other hand, you prefer solid and awesome single player games, and the occasional multiplayer match, the PS3 has way better exclusives in this area.

If you still haven't decided then take the PS3. Uncharted 2 is good enough to make you buy a console just to play it. Metal Gear Solid 4, Infamous and Demon's Souls as well.

I am going to get one and i cant decide which one.
Please recomend which one but GIVE A REASON, this is not a argument.

If you have a PC controller (not Xbox) and a friend comes round, you should be able to use the PC controller on the PS3 (as ar as I know, I've only tried it with a Logitech USB controller).
PC controller?

But as for the OP, I say get what ever system your friends are playing most. Both of the system's exclusives are pretty awesome, but hell, what do I know. PC master-race ftw.
My Logitech Rumblepad 2 works on my ps3, just plug and play. Doesn't have the motion sensor or playstation button but every other button works perfectly, and most games don't use motion sensor anyway (and those that do have the option to turn it off)

I can't tell you what you should get but I can tell you why I went for a 360.

- My friends have one so LAN and multiplayer is there
- The controllers work so much better for my huge hands
- It is a cheaper option for both console and games
- The exclusive games for PS3 do not impress me

I can't really think of anything else.

Jeez, this question gets asked every week. One of the mods should make a console thread that gives the pro vs. cons of each major console.

Oh, and has anyone else noticed that these threads almost never actually erupt into a flame war?

I know it might turn into a flame war but i still need to know.
I have looked at all the pros and cons of both systems but i was going to get a PS3 simply for the fact that FF13 was going to be on it but now its going to be on 360 i cant decide.
Welcome to my world. I bought a 360 but like every other console it's wound up languishing next to my P.c. PS3 didn't have enough games to justify its price (although in price v.s technology it is a bargain). You want Blu-Ray? You want cutting edge graphics? You want 360 games? spend the money on a P.C they can play more, for less money, with better controls and with massive customizability (if that's a word)
IMHO. I wish I could write that in fire across the sky. It's just my opinion on the net, it's really not worth getting angry about

Simply put, I have both consoles, but I hardly use my PS3.

Why?

Well... DOWNLOADABLECONTENTEASYONLINEPLAYSIMPLERUSERINTERFACEBETTERCONTROLLERBETTERGAMESBREAKSLESSOFTENEASIERTOCONFIGURE

I'll use my PS3 only for PS3 exclusives, and out of those games, there're only a few I like. If the game is multiplatform, I'll go for the 360 version every time because of downloadable content.

Other than COD4 I seriously can't imagine a good PS3 online shooter.

welcome to the escapist! although your intentions seem to be pure vs threads are not welcome here. however i will answer you r question because i do own both and the console war means nothing to me. first off i love the ps3 because of exclusives like; mgs4, uncharted series, resistance series, ratchet and clank, infamous, and heavenly sword. also i like the superior graphics, free online play, blu ray player, and the rechargable controllers. for the 360 i love exclusives like gears of war series, left for dead series, dead rising series, saints row series, and tenchu z. also the online is incredibly superior (although you have to pay about $4 a month if you buy the $50 a year gold subscription), the controller is much more comfortable for shooters (yes i was a playstation only user up til 360 so no fanboyism here), and alot of dlc comes out either exclusively or at least first for 360. so from someone that plays both systems frequently my suggestion is to weigh your options, create a pros and cons list, and eventually make a descision based on what your personal needs ands preferances are. although inconclusive i hope that this helped your descision.

In my mind the two are largely interchangeable. One has better multiplayer support and the other has slightly better graphics(sometimes). Of course both Sony and Microsoft are trying to rip each other off *cough trophies cough* so the systems are becoming more alike over time. Now there are plenty of differences inbetween them I really, I guess, but they all seem small when compared to the differences of say a PS3 and a Wii or a computer and an X-box 360.

It's a question of the games you prefer. It's the only real concern. Check out the exclusives, check out the meta-scores for the multiplatform titles, and make your decision from there.

Overall price is the same once you bring both systems to full functionality.

I think if you need to ask then you should buy a Wii. Seriously how hard is it to ask yourself

What has games that I would like to play.

What has features that matter to me.

What do my friends have.

And if you can't you should not be allowed to own any console that focuses on multiplayer with chat.
