Xbox 360 Vs. PS3

What the hell is the question? Theres no defined parameters, nothing measurable, the initial argument is biased, and what the hell do you want to know? Why do people buy 360?

Is "because their friends have it" not enough for you? Its as good reason as any. How about "because they like the games"? Or maybe "they are fanboys"? Who the knows why? Everyone has their own reasons, the 360 community aren't lead by a hive mind! Futhermore who the hell would care? What will you do with this information?

Different processors, graphics chips, etc etc handle different things better and worse than others. Also the 8 core of the PS3 is different from the tri-core of the 360 in many ways, having taken apart both myself.

People play the Xbox360 because its an available game system that is extremely similar to its Sony competitor.

In my opinion, the 360 has far better games. I have the major PS3 exclusives, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, and Metal Gear Solid 4, and none of them are as fun as the games I play on my 360. Resistance and Killzone are pretty much generic shooters, made to compete with the shooters on the X-Box, but they feel "soulless", for lack of a better term. Sure, most shooters on every console feel generic these days, but Halo was pretty original back when it started, and Gears of War tried hard to bring in new game mechanics, and is just fun to play. With Killzone, it's pretty and all, but it's just not that fun to play that I want to keep going back to it (though it's probably the best game I have for my PS3). Resistance isn't that great either, for some reason I feel really disconnected from the gameplay when I'm playing that. Then you have Little Big Planet, which everyone raves about like they've never seen a level editor before. It's fun to a point, but then you realize the single player is mainly there to gather stuff to make levels with, and I suck at designing maps (as do the majority of people), which makes it kind of pointless. It really gets old fast, I can't play it for more than an hour. And then there's MGS4 which is a HORRIBLE game in my opinion, and the only reason people like it is because they've stuck with the series since the beginning. It's like a parent with an ugly child, they'll never see how hideous the thing is, because in their eyes, it's beautiful. The gameplay is broken, almost as bad as Resident Evil 5, it sucked all of the enjoyment out of the game for me. This is an example of a series that refused to evolve, and when compared to other games out there (including 360 games), is extremely dated.

Then you have the online which is a mess. Home is pointless. I'd rather pay for something that works well (X-Box Live), than play something that shitty for free. At least on X-Box you have a tried, tested and true online system.

Also, a few minor problems with the PS3 for me would be that I don't care about blu-ray at all, I find a movie is a movie and I don't have to see the pores on Morgan Freemans face to enjoy it. I also hate that your only option to communicate with friends is a wireless headset, I prefer wired. And, the controller doesn't feel as good as the 360's, I think the design of the X-Box controller is very comfortable.

Overall, I just have more fun with the 360. I know a lot of people that have one, and it's a blast going on and playing great games like Left 4 Dead, Saints Row 2, Gears of War 2, Halo 3 (which a lot of people rip on because it's the cool thing to do), and all the multi-platform games that are the exact same on both consoles, like CoD 4/WaW, Rock Band, Fight Night, Battlefield: Bad Company, etc. Right now my PS3 is literally collecting dust (it really shows on that console), and with another year of college coming up, I think I'm going to let it go the way of my Wii, e-bay. It could fetch a good price, I'm sure.

In actual response to the OP, the Xbox 360 is cheaper, and in my opinion (hopefully you'll understand this as your entire argument is based off opinion) the exclusives are better more to my taste. To break it down a bit, when my friends who own PS3s play together online, they play Call of Duty or Burnout. When I play with my friends who own 360s online, we play Halo 3 together.

Oh yes, and I bought my 360 at the begining 2008. Why do you think I bought it?

I don't know many people who've bought a 360 because their friends have one, the number one answer I hear is the variety of games, not saying the ps3's games aren't fun or anything.

It's also the same reason i bought one over the ps3.

Further, your argument lacks credibility as you cannot prove games to be superior. Besides, the PS3 and 360 are exactly the same bar the price and the fact the PS3 has a blu-ray player. I'm not sure what you're asking but I'm assuming you want to know why the Xbox fanboys hate the PS3. I'm not quite sure (I've actually been wondering the same thing myself) but I think fanboyism is a game they play to see if they can achieve superiority over everyone else.

Lets face facts, that is such a weak argument. I don't feel the need to say anything, other then, stop playing instant "fun" games and learn to be patient to get the REAL fun out of a game, meaning, a good story, that isn't as simple as "Mr. worms A-B-C" book for toddlers

God forbid people might wanna play games they enjoy... things like the quality of the games are subjective to peoples tastes. Anyway, if you want games with real variety and substance why don't you put down your baby toy joypad and join the PC gaming elite?
