I still think it's funny that they have made Portal 2 and L4D 2 but HL2 Episode 3 is still no where in sight.
I think you're presuming a lot.
Keep in mind that we still don't know everything about this game- and that it isn't even close to being out.
That and it might also be possible that Portal 2 will actually be better than Portal.
Hard to imagine, but Valve has never been one to disappoint. And I remember that I thought Portal was gonna be a tech-demo game, with a weak story to link the puzzles together- thought it would be a high-tech flash puzzle game, essentially.
And I was incredibly wrong.

It's an impossibility. Haven't you people realized by now that Yahtzee is Gabe Newell's Frankenstein? In critic form, anyway.
I got a bit hung up when you said "unless they bring back the cake meme". I'd like for that cake thing to kindly... DIE. It was funny at the time it came out... and a little bit after. A LITTLE bit after. Then people kept referencing it. That damn 'Splosion Man game was BUILT AROUND THAT MEME.

I think that he will probably berate it at least because he holds the first one up to such standards. Also, it's hard to keep up that kind of humor in a longer game. And let's hope that they don;t just add more of the same to that game to extend it, they ALREADY showed in the first one that the length of a game shouldn't matter as much as it being GOOD. yes, some parts will probably repeat, it will have a tutorial of some sort at the beginning I imagine, and the jump and I almost hope the cake DOESN'T reappear. Half of the first game was the horror and surprise of "cake". Having another "cake" may be part of the whole series image, but it would be somewhat self defeating.

The problem with this argument is that no one has actually played it yet. You've done exactly what Yahtzee hates. You're defending a game that isn't yet released because you liked its prequel. Who knows? It might be terrible, but I'm sure that wouldn't change your opinion because you've already decided that you like it. Chances are it'll be a good game and that Yahtzee will be a critic and criticize it but still enjoy it overall. I watch zero punctuation for a review and for lolz, not to see someone blindly support the things i like or to be an offendable fanboy.

Hell, the only fully confirmed things (storywise) about this game is that GLaDOS and Chell are around, Aperture is run down, and there's a talking personality core. This is a problem outside the internet aswell. Most people will blindly believe anything said on TV programs or newspapers, even the bogus ones like Fox News or The Sun.
