Yet Another MW2 Thread : Quickscopers

Because that's not how you use a sniper rifle. Granted it's not the player's fault, they're playing with the hand they're dealt, developers are the ones that need to make sure this can't be done (unless we're talking about something like Unreal Tournament).

But anyway, I mostly play Bad Company 2 nowadays, so I don't have to deal with this.

I dont play MW2 ever since Bad Company 2 came out. I find that there are so many cheap tactics in MW2, I end up with a 1:3 kill/death ratio every game. I all but gave up on MW2 before reach level 60... with no prestige. I really dont see why they even included the sniper in MP...

While I'm not fond of it, I have no hate for the players that use it. (Though they are a bit irritating)

But I must admit they are fun to watch on Youtube. There was this 10 ten MW2 kills series and most of them were some crazy quickscopes.

Right, I don't really care about the whole debate, but I don't like people calling things scrubby when they're the ones being scrubby. Scrubs are the ones who complain about what people do and want them to play with their own made-up not part of the game rules. Anything that can be done in the game without using hacks isn't scrubby. You can say it's lame, stupid, and not-fun, and maybe it is, but it's not scrubby. [/rant]

I have a bigger problem with modders. I saw a guy who admitted to having the "wall glitch" he could basically see you as a red dot THROUGH walls. It was crazy. It made me a sad panda.

Since when does it take skill to exploit a broken feature of a game? That broken feature being auto-aim. Yeah, they're so skillful when the game aims for them. All they have to do is pull the trigger. Mhmm. Skill.

"Quickscoping" isn't a physical possibility in MW2. There are nothing but wanna-bes. Try it without auto-aim. Oh wait, you can't, because you can't turn auto-aim off, and even if you could, you wouldn't because your entire "strategy" depends on having a game aim for you.

Try it without sleight of hand pro. You can't.

If you can't do it without those 2 things, you can't do it.

If you wanna see real quickscoping, go play CoD(1). That's where the real skill is.

It doesn't bother me all that much, I think that it should be somehow pulled out of the game like a glitch. I'm not one of those guys that wants everything ingame to be realistic, but quickscoping isn't just unrealistic, it's impossible, and greatly increases the viability of the sniper, unbalancing the game. That said, it's a shit-ton better than noob-tubing, or tac-knifing, so I dont ***** about getting quickscoped. You can be almost as cheap just normal sniping with an ebar cuz it's rate of fire is so high.

Surely it's a glitch? There's no way the rifle is that accurate without aiming.

It feels like they're exploiting a design flaw.

I mean really, you're comparing the lowest skill to largest reward strategy (tubing) to the highest skill to least reward strategy, what is so bad about quickscoping?

The Intervention is designed to be a long range weapon. I find it funny that my little brother thinks quickscoping is the best thing as sliced bread and tries to do it (and fails a lot) in any situation, especially in close combat against guys with smgs and assault rifles. MW2 is designed to be realistic as possible and there is nothing real about quickscoping. One may look cool quickscoping in a killcam, but if that person fails and gets killed in a killcam, the person who failed quickscoping will look extremely stupid.

I don't know one person who has a problem with quickscopers.

A lot of people feel it's ridiculous that it can be done in the first place though, which is a criticism of the game as opposed to the player.

I did a quickscope once. It was amazing, I was sprinting to my next spot after taking out a couple of guys, when I saw a flash outta the corner of my eye. I turned, aimed, fired, then continued sprinting in one motion. My bro next to me just dropped his jaw in shock: I'm never that smooth. But yeah people try to be pro and quickscope, generally gives easy kills. People who are pro and quickscope well... Fair enough.

By skilled players I mean people that move about the map, flanking and setting up ambushes. Not campers. BTW just so you know anyone that falls into these catagories I consider scum: boosters, campers, people that overuse UMP45 and SPAS12, noob-tubers, shield blockers, quick-scopers, whiny underage kids, players with names that have to many x's, alternating capital letters etc. people in 9th and 10th prestige (because they most likely used the hack, making these prestiges meaningless) If you do these please gtfo you are ruining the multiplayer.

Quick-scopers irritate me every now and again as do people who use heartbeat sensors and others who run around with dual shotguns or tactical knives. But these are only irritants that could easily be solved by switching up tactics, weapon loadouts, etc. As a person who uses the UMP 45 as one of his signature weapons, I am offended that you would label me as scum. I hardly think that I am ruining multiplayer because I choose to specialize in something.

So, let me get this straight, you think that lucking out is using a gun to the best of it's ability?

But snipers who camp are worse than any quick-scoper or no-scoper that has, does or will exist. It's a nooby method of shooting down as many guys who run past before you die. I prefer a much more elegant use of the weapon. M21, sit and wait for someone, pull the trigger twice, move. It's a much nicer game for me this way. With cold blooded pro and ninja pro nobody ever sees me sitting there and often run past me.
