Well that depends, do you maintain your momentum when you teleport? Or when you teleport do you lose your momentum so that(for example) if you went for a freefall you could just telport back to the ground just before you hit it and end up just standing there as opposed to still going really fast when you teleport back to ground.

If your momentum is zero relative to the surface of the earth or the surface you are on then I would make a chain of teleports (micro-ones so that it looks like I'm moving but not being crushed by the air resistance) right beside a plane so that I can just 'fly' beside them and wave as they go "WTF!!!!!ONE!!!!!11!1!!ELEVEN!!".

Another interesting thing any teleporter, casual or enthusiast, must take into account is where you land after teleporting. If you can only warp to locations you've been to or have seen, then you gotta worry about moving objects like cars, people, animals, and other mobile things like that. But if you can jump wherever you like, then you must make sure that you're not teleporting straight into a wall or some such, as I somewhat doubt that matter would get displaced before reentry, although that is an interesting theory.

I'd be interested to hear what others think about these thoughts of mine...

Well, my own version of teleporting (seeing as the OP never specified) would be that I swap places with whatever I am teleporting to and I gain the same velocity they have, so If I teleport into a car, part of the car goes to where I was and I don't get bisected by the fast moving vehicle because we are travelling the same speed. Also, my version comes with the option (key word option) of bringing things I am touching with me, so I can bring other objects such as people, clothes, vehicles, chunks of earth etc with me if I want to.
