Well I probably have one about video games somewhere in my head but I can't think of it, so instead I'll talk about DVDs and Blu-Rays.
I worked in a video rental store and we had three shelves devoted to blu-ray movies and at least once a week a customer would bring one up and we'd have to go through a scenario similar to this.
Me: Do you have a blu-ray player?
Customer: A what?
Me: A blu-ray DVD player. See this disc here, it only plays on a special DVD player. Do you have one?
Customer: I don't know.
Me: Well if you don't know, then you probably don't have one.
Customer: Why won't it play on my DVD player?
Me: Because it's blu-ray. It's not meant to play on a regular DVD player.
Customer: Well what's the difference?
Me: *sighs and tries to explain and then wash, rinse, repeat three more times.*
I get that not everyone is up on the latest technology and that's fine but it's simple, if you don't KNOW if you have one, you probably DON'T have one. Moreover, I'm not your teacher, I'll gladly try to help my customer in any way I can, but I'm actually at work and have other things to do then school you in the latest technology. If you're that interested, go to walmart, best buy, or somewhere else and ask the people that actually SELL the damn things. They're actually paid to explain this stuff to you.
