The only games I own and haven't beaten are Half Life 2 (and episodes), and The Legend of the Dragoon...

Dragoon just started to bore me, I don't think I'll actually ever finish it.

... Come to think of it, I never did beat Parasite Eve. But my brothers destroyed the disks and I haven't found a new copy yet <_<

For shorter games, I play through until it's beaten (like the Spyro games and Portal), longer RPGs are played until I get stuck or bored, then I just move on to others I have waiting until they're done.

I still haven't finished The Suffering: Ties That Bind and it took me 2 years to finally finish FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus.

Can't remember any other game I haven't finished or that took me a long time to.

i have 2 games to still complete, shadow of the collusus, and loz:link to the past. both of them at the last bosses, which are rage inducingly hard.
Collect more heart pieces and buy a few blue potions from the witch towards the east of Hyrule castle, by the Zoras. When the lamps come up for you to light them, use your fire rod on them instead of your lamp. You should be fine ;D.

I don't think I ever stopped playing a game b/c I got frustrated, but I put off games A LOT. I still haven't beaten Dead Space or Batman: AA.....I'LL DO IT EVENTUALLY. :(
hahaha - exactly the same situation with Dead Space - loved it to bits, it scared me to shits, and despite the two, I refuse to complete, nay, play the thing. still really early on in the game despite having owned it for months after buying it for £5 retail. . . I still maintain to my girlfriend that I will finish it one day. . .

Yes, that exact thing happend to me (save the system wipe). I got stuck on Chamber 18, i was always going into the portals facing the wrong direction, making me fall. Then I remebered that the amazing game Team fortress 2 came with the orange box. I just said fuck it and played that... for 200 hours.

Too many to list still in the wrapper but I did finish God of War the other day- found myself exiled to the bedroom yesterday afternoon where the PS2 serves as a backup dvd player. Well I fired it up and GoW was in the drive. The last save was dated March 2006. I remember hurling the contoller down having got stuck on the revolving spikey log things on the Hades level. After dying a few times (again) I got the old "this game ain't gonna beat me" feeling and cracked through it.

Final Fantasy XII. No mater how many hours (yes, hours) I spend grinding, I never seem to be strong enough.
OMG yes. I had all but given up on beating the last boss - then I found that a friend had beaten it whilst 10 LEVELS lower than me - strengthened my resolve. . . after a few tries I beat it, finally getting to the end cinematic I had been avoiding on the internet for so long. . .

then the damn thing froze on me. never again.

That happened with me with both Oblivion, Morrowind and I think SKATE 2 as well, we just got new games and I forgot all about the other games. Although I have finished SKATE 2 and Oblivion.

Back when I was young, stupid, and bad, and couldn't beat things like certain scenarios in heroes of might and magic or levels in the starcraft campaign, I'd let it sit for a few months and then come back to where I was stuck and just magically have an answer to beat it.

I got quite a ways into Titan's Quest, only to lose it when I reimaged to Windows 7.

I also beat Fire Leo in Viewtiful Joe, and then just stopped playing.

I reached SIN in FFX and stopped playing that as well.

EDIT: No matter how many times I play Metroid Fusion, I always get stuck on two particular bits: finding the speed boss, and that zone with all the fucking vines and shit.

I have lots of games I don't finish. At the moment, it's "Psychonauts" (recent download from Live), "FIFA10", "Forza 3" and "Demons's Souls". The last one is never, ever gonna happen.
But worst than not finishing a game for ages is finishing the game quickly and then not being bothered to play the other parts (online, hidden packages, etc.) because the challenge has somehow gone (AC2, MW2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2): I get that a lot as well.
