I yelled 'Hooooly Heeeeell!' and actually froze up when the Alpha series Big Daddy crashes through a wall in the Fontaine Futuristics level and then charges at you. I've personally never seen something move that fast.

And the damn screen in Ryan's office.

Resident Evil.
Hallway, windows, dogs.
Pause and go change shorts.
Yeah, I was playing with a bunch of my friends, passing the controller around, and it was right after seeing the dogs on the other side of that fence. I mean, for a game that usually only gives you one zombie every three rooms... how many dogs came through on each side? Whatever it was, my friend made a really funny scream and it was amazing.

Out of all the moments, the one on the top of my head was at the end of Zeno Clash. That game had me hooked. Really short, but I loved every minute of it.
Everything that had to do with the father mother was cool, and the dark shadowy guy (I've forgotten exactly how he looks) was so mysterious. It just made me question what the hell he really was.

Either hte first time I saw Pyramid do the things that make him disturbing, or when I first fought the reaper in Persona 3 Fes at level 7 (thinking he would be at my level and was something of a mini boss) and then he pretty much bent me over and gave me a barbed shaft.

The fucking health bar of Barthandalus in Final Fantasy XIII at first attempt.

Five fucking million HP!? Are you fucking KIDDING me, game!?

..Yeah.
This. And hearing Lightning yell "Barthandalus!" every turn didn't help that fight's tedium level.

In Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising. It turned out my second was a traitor, and he was possessed by a demon that was haunting his armor. I shat bricks.

Played against some friends from my old clan and on the fourth map of no mercy in l4d2 I deadstopped a hunter in the elevator, and then melee'd a smoker right outside. I then proceeded to heal one of my buddies as two were incapped and one was dead. Right as I get him up I'm charged. That all take about 8 seconds. The three of us then proceeded to the top and there was a tank. I died by jumping off the building (intentionally) and the tank followed me. Then the other two were killed by a witch.

A couple years back, playing Call of Duty: World at War with surround sound for the first time. Completing the campaign and raising the flag over the Reich stag with chanting voices of Russians in all their realistically stereo goodness...good times.

I was just playing disciples 1 and I got 90% damage reduction on my paladins. I reduced a 140 damage hit to 15... I was all like... holy shit and stuff.

he went from like a 14-year old boy with a big destiny to a 20-year old badass with a hitlist.
I too love the Jak 2 opening, but in Jak and daxter he's 15, Jak 2 he's 17, Jak 3 he's 18 and Jak X he's 19. I know it doesn't mean much to alot of people but I was really surprised when I found out that the ages were listed in Jak X (the younger Jaks were unlockable characters)
So, I expect that Jak will be somewhere between his 20's or late 30's before a new game in the franchise(that collab with Ratchet&Clank and Sly Cooper doesn't count).

WAIT! Was Jak put in that new PS3 Move game as a tease to Jak 4??? I pray so

The end of Shadow of the Colossus kinda struck me. I thought those one shaman guys were going to come f*ck Wander's sh*t up,
it turns out that voice was an evil God that was split into the 16 colossi.

AC:B as well. When I heard Abstergo's agents I was like F*CK!

And it seems I'm the only one who thought Majora's Mask was a pretty big holy sh*t moment to me.
It might have been because I was young when I first saw it, but when I learned the mask was controlling Skull Kid all along I freaked to little. And then I had to partake in his truly EPIC battle. That is why MM is my favorite Zelda game ever.

Edit: And Pokemon White/Black. It was just such an epic ending compared to ANY of the other pokemon games.

Painkiller: most of the bosses.

I'd never really considered the idea that I could kill Thor, Cerberus, Samael etc. in a game not entitled "Castlevania". Then furthermore, that this game could be good. Then furthermore stumbling upon a boss named The Necrogiant and realising this was the biggest boss monster I have ever seen.

God of War had some huge bosses (Shadow of the Colossus likewise), but since you could jump all over those bosses they didn't seem so big. The Necrogiant was just enormous and I can't think of any other boss that comes close to it.

When Wizard Grayzag (known for 9 years for his inability to summon anything stronger than imps) turned out to be behind summoning the Void Queen, the second strongest quest boss in RuneScape. "Holy crap, GRAYZAG?"

For those that know WoW, this is like finding out that Gamon is the right-hand man of Deathwing. Holy crap indeed.

Turns out Captain Price is prisoner 627, and I thought he died after the first game. It made my jaw drop alright.

That and the first time I stepped out of that bunker in Washington D.C.

Two things are noteworthy for me.

First time I played Bioshock was in the wee hours of the morning. I forget which area of Medical I was in, but there's a splicer who jumps out of a cupboard next to some stairs and pooled water. Anyways, in my sleep deprived state I was incredibly jittery, and freaked out on this splicer when I rounded the corner. I ignited him on accident, and he promptly ran screaming across the room, jumped down the short stairwell, and belly-flopped into the pool of water to extinguish himself. I was so freaked that I ran over and took my wrench to him numerous times before calming down and leaving.

Also, this scene from the Force Unleashed II [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=furd6yGdNQo] startled me quite a bit. My reaction was essentially as follows: "What the crap is this? Did they say goron or whatever and send out a fucking raincOH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT!?"
