What are your guys favorite book series?

Myn at the moment is the Ranger Apprentince Series, I just began book three and it is really good.

(Sorry if this is a copy thread.)
awesome books, those gotta be my favorite series. the first 1 was best. i cant remember, but i think its the 5th or 6th one where hes an adult, dont read it. it was kinda sad, author was milking the cash cow on a previously awesome series. just stop after the one that seems like the series is over

My all time favorite was the Bartimaeus Trilogy.
Although i'm starting to get into 'The Circle Trilogy(series?),' along with 'The Lost Books' and 'The Paradise Novels' all by Ted Dekker.

My favorite Redwall book is probably Mossflower. It's definitely the most "epic" of the series in my view.

Quick question: Is the first book in that trilogy The Reality Dysfunction by any chance? It's the same author and I love that book, but I wasn't aware it had a sequel(s).

I Have currently read every single one of the Artemis Fowl books, and enthusiastically look forward to the one which comes next.

You know those fantasies you have about being the smug little Chessmaster, outwitting vastly-superiorly equipped opponents through ingenious ploys they never saw coming? Artemis Fowl is basically all of that in book format.

Yes.

But, depending on where you live, it could be either 3 books or 6 books or even 12 books.
They're very fat books, with lots of detail and plot going on...some places don't like that so they broke then main books (The Reality Dysfunction; The Neutronium Alchemist; The Naked God) into smaller versions.

For modern nothing can compare to Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia.
I couldn't agree more, those are two of my favorite series.
I also like the Redwall series and most of the books by Dianna Wynn Jones, mostly the Derkholm series and the Eight Days of Luke.
Redwall is another great series that I really enjoyed. Could you pick a favorite from that series if you had to? I haven't heard of the others but will have to check them out.

My favorite Redwall book? Probably Mattimeo. Have you ever read his other series, Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. They're also pretty good.
Describing the Derkholm series would take too long, but Eight Day of Luke would really appeal to someone who likes Norse mythology, specifically the god Loki.

I almost forgot, I'm also a huge fan of the Artemis Fowl books.

It's funny, I'm a huge fan of fantasy books, but the Harry Potter series doesn't even make it on my Top 5 or even my Top 10(maybe at the bottom,) I like it but it'll never be my favorite.

Oh man, I LOVE A Song of Ice and Fire! Except for the fact that everyone I loved died. But I know it had to be that way. STILL.

Other than the George R.R. Martin series just listed... I'd have to say I have three favorite authors. Frank Herbert for his Dune series, L.E. Modesitt Jr. for his Ecolitan series and every other Sci-fi book he's ever made except for his Forever Hero book and Brandon Sanderson's Elantris and Warbreaker books.

-edit-
OH MY GOD. I FORGOT REDWALL. Thanks for reminding me!
xD.
I loved The Long Patrol, the tale about Luke (can't remember the title) and Mossflower because I loved the characters. x3.

I don't read much books but it's the best books i've read so far. read books 1,2,3,4,7, and i'm halfway through 5.

Have fun, though a word of warning:
You may need to read the books 2 or 3 times to really 'get' them.

There's a LOT of information, sub-plots, and comments on humanity as a species going on.
I love the book series, but I've always been told it's a hard read whenever anyone else tries to go through the books.

Yea, it definitely took a second read to understand everything that was going on in TRD, so I would imagine the same holds true for the rest of it. We'll see how it goes.

And just to toss another book series into the ring that I forgot to mention earlier: Altered Carbon and it's 2 sequels by Richard K Morgan. As far as I know, there's no actual name for the trilogy, but Altered Carbon, Broken Angels and Woken Furies are a series of sci-fi books that are really quite extraordinary, definitely worth checking out.

As far as series, it's Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Douglas Adams was a comedic genius, and it's a shame he didn't finish the Dirk Gently trilogy. My favorite book that's not part of a series would be Crime and Punishment, although The Idiot was a great read as well.
