My favourite grunts have to be the SS guards who go 'Mein Laben!' when they die in Wolfenstein 3D (and their Doom 2 counterparts).

Then again...they are technically gearing more towards advanced/elite troops than 'grunts' in which case I would also have to say that the yellow raptor guys from Turok 2 were also favored (the way they run away from my Cerebral Bore gave me a warm feeling inside).

Waddle dees from kirby. They're in that awesome area between "cuddly" and "badass." I want to have like, 4 of those and teach them each to play a different heavy-metal instrument, then rock out with them nonstop. Shit, that would be awesome.

I like the zombies in Left 4 Dead. Irritating but easy to kill, when you can punch a zombie in the face and have it die. You feel so much better about yourself.
