Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, from At The Drive-In initially, and now (and showing considerably better guitarageness) The Mars Volta. The guy is a pure genius. He writes all the music for TMV, like, every instrument they use, and then teaches everyone else. When they play live, he plays guitar and just completely pwns.

In terms of passion, I'd say Dimebag Darrell. As for the skill, Paul Gilbert !

Ohh, tough choice.

Zakk Wylde, Kirk Hammet and Dave Mustaine all come to mind, but there's four I hold above all others as my favourite guitarists I've ever heard:

Jimi Hendrix
Yngwie Malmsteen
Brian May
George Harrison
Agreed, but if I may add another to complete it

Robby Krieger
If I knew who he was, I'd probably agree with you. Also, I've just realised that my list has a conspicuous lack of John Lennon, who I'm sure I put down on it...

He's from The Doors, plays some fun riffs. Lennon flew by me too, don't feel bad.

Alexi Laiho is probably my absolute favorite.

Not only because I like Children of Bodom, but there's just something about his playing that fascinates me. It's fast, melodical and extremly technical, too.

Not to mention he's an absolute blast when it comes to pulling a show aswell.

The Doors? Was that the band that did Break On Through To The Other Side and Light My Fire? If so, then yes, that man is one hell of funky guitarist.

Also, I forgot Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler 0_0.

Joe Satriani, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaugn, Jimi Hendrix, Dimebag Darrel, Marty Friedman, Kerry King, Jimmy Page.

If I had to pick one it would probably be Joe Satriani.

Mark Morton. I'm in love with the man.

And the one time I went to see him live, his wife was having a baby ='[

Recently, I've acquired a ridiculous amount of respect for Claudio from Coheed and Cambria. Some of the acoustic songs on his solo project are amazing.

I don't tend to go for favourite musicians. I never can decide.

I will say, though, that Newton Faulkner is currently rocking my socks off.
