Buckethead. I'm a sucker for music without vocals and it's amazing how much emotion and passion BH can put into his music. He doesn't do any stage theatrics, and he doesn't do anything off-stage in the media or social spotlight to garner attention. Hell, he wears an expressionless mask whenever he plays.
He's the most stoic guitarist I've ever known, yet his music speaks volumes about him. He's not an entertainer who happens to play music, he's a musician, and nothing else. That's not to say other guitarists are bad or anything, I just like BH's enigmatic and reserved persona.

Fredrik Thordendal of Meshuggah.

What's nice is how calm the band is. To the best of my knowledge, they never try to show off. What's also nice is Thordendal's style of playing. He doesn't go for the Kerry King-esque noodling style, nor does he try to make it more brutal or more fast, but rather just make it sound unique.

He also recorded his own concept album, Sol Niger Within. The face melting, sexy, delicious solo starts around 3:30.

Not surprised to see the Steves (Vai, and Ray Vaugn) in good showing.

I would have to add a Steve to the mix: Steve Hackett. He's one of the elements that made that early Genesis stuff so trippy; the other element would have to be Peter Gabriel's stage shows.

G E Smith is also very cool. You mightknow him as the SNL band leader from the 90s but he's done a ton of great stuff.

I refer thee to my avatar(Randy Rhoads). Although I respect Page, K.K. Downing, Paul Gilbert, Jake E. Lee and the guitarist from Bon Jovi whose name I cannot remember for the life of me.
Bon Jovi's guitarist is Richie Sambora :]
Ahhh, thank you for that kind sir. Have a nice day.

Ohh, tough choice.

Zakk Wylde, Kirk Hammet and Dave Mustaine all come to mind, but there's seven I hold above all others as my favourite guitarists I've ever heard:

Jimi Hendrix
Yngwie Malmsteen
Brian May
George Harrison

John Lennon
Mark Knopfler
Eric Clapton
These guys, also Jimmy Page.

James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, and Tom Morello. My favorites right there.
