They're not well known (as far as I'm aware), so I'll go with Single File.

Their latest single (Mannequin Loveseat) is either the best satire of the entire emo genre I've ever heard, or is dead serious; so it's hilarious either way

There's a bad called The Rydells. Saw them at a club when I lived in Ohio, and they have a really good sound.

Another band that seems pretty unheard of that I adore would be Dark Moor, when they had their old singer Elisa C Martin.

The album 'The Gates of Oblivion' is one of the best power metal albums out there, not to mention that Elisa is the only woman I've ever heard to be able top pull off power metal vocals.

So awesome. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omH1tjTPo-8]

Everytime someone starts a thread involving good bands or music lyrics, i give the same answer. DIE PRINZEN (pronounced "dee prinzen") the most satirical band ever. Although you have the speak german to understand their songs

City & Color, a.k.a. Dallas Green, a side project from the band Alexisonfire.

Great alt music, it's just a shame the majority of his songs sound very similar.

Other good bands that aren't well known;

Alexisonfire
A Day To Remember
Fear Before the March of Flames
Saves the Day

PAIN, Peter Tagtgren's lesser-known industrial metal band. Oh, no, wait, he's the writer, singer, performer of all instruments, and producer of all his own songs. I love how you can hear a song of his five or ten times and find a new musical layer every time. It's my favorite band, as you might be able to tell if you've read some of my previous posts.

Mandragora Scream. Italian metal band whose first two albums were complete garbage, so by the time the awesome third one rolled around, everyone had stopped caring.

The Creation:

The Electric Prunes:

Both are bands out of the 60's that NOBODY knows about today.

Madrugada. I can't say for the wide world, but here in Denmark, they aren't especially known, as far as I have experienced.
