And you'd shoot it maybe once a year, if that. :D The Delta Elite may be a totem gun - one that makes an impression - but 10mm is notorious for working your wrists hard, and one of my buddies has a Delta that he never shoots because he claims that the slide keeps trying to tear off the skin between his knuckles.

(I really like guns, excuse me while I crit people's choices...)
Ive fired this quite abit. Its the gun i use down at my range, reason i picked it. Otherwise, i wouldnt pick a gun :]

I doubt I will ever buy a 'real' gun but I would only shoot one... that's it. I'd rather stick to airsoft guns.
The only gun I would ever buy if I did do that would be something like a Mosin Nagant or a MP44 as those rifle seem good...

Also for all those Anti-Gun people out there there will alway be guns due to criminals disobeying the law and there is such thing as Target Practice any of you ever heard that?

What was it? or if you will be a gun owner Which one will you buy?

On my 21st birthday i am gonna pick up this lil beauty:

Its mainly of self defense, The way society is progressing you dont know when shit will hit the fan.

Serious answers are appreciated (someone will say BFG 9000) but whatever, have fun with it.
why five-seven?
its ammunition is kinda rare and expensive. stick with an 9mm if you like to shoot a lot.
if not; five-seven is a cool looking accurate weapon.

how much are going to pay for it? isnt it like 1000 bucks
Ammo isnt too rare, you can find it pretty easily down where i live. It costs $1000-1200 brand new. I have a job so its not that expensive for me, i would have to save up for a couple months in advance

Not that I disagree, but I thought we were talking guns here, not gun rights?

Moving along, this was my other choice for a first gun:
Popular at the time, less so now.

My first rifle was a Mauser M98, an old one, stockpiled as a sharpshooter's rifle for the Norwegian army, but never used. It was modified so that a scope could be attached, which increased the price from dirt cheap to what one would expect to pay for a cheap, new rifle of the same caliber (.308), and I put some money into getting some decent optics for it. I love the Mauser mechanism, and there was no way I could afford a new M98. Anyways, I haven't got a picture of it, and couldn't find a picture on Google that resembled it. I use it for deer hunting. As far as handguns are concerned, I'd like to get one, but it's practically impossible with Norwegian gun laws, and there is very little violent crime outside the capital (Oslo), so needing one for home defense is not really an issue.

You do realise that that thing is the size of a desert eagle, making it virtually impossible to carry? Also, it's marketed by Hk as an "offensive handgun" (whatever that is), and that causes problems again should you ever use come to it. Plus it costs a wheelbarrow of cash for the same functionality you'd get from a p2000 or a Usp.

That said, it is a remarkably attractive piece of functional engineering. And certainly impressive.

when I get older I'm probably migrating to Turkey, where you can buy weapons easily.
in turkey, you may buy any semi-automatic handgun, rifle or shotgun. no licence for automatic rifles is given to civis.
permit to carry them in public option is also avaliable to civilians, but only if you can declare that you have something to protect.

just an informal answer.

Ruger 10/22. Let's not start the jihad over which .22 is best but I think that SOME manner of .22 should probably be the first "real gun" people buy (pellet/BB guns notwithstanding.)

Oh, and to rub salt in a few open wounds, I'm Canadian and I own guns. ;)

I bought an authentic original production German Mauser K98. It came with a little history- it had a bent barrel (done primarily by knock-offs) but in this case the bolt SN matched the rest of the rifle. Bolts were also bent when the K98 was converted to be used as a sniper rifle. Also, it has the Waffen Eagle stamp carrying a swastika (I'm a huge history geek- not a Neo-Nazi fyi) So it was, in effect, an SS sniper rifle. I'm hoping to pick up an AR-15 sometime in the near future, or possible a Sig P226 chambered in .357 Sig but I think it's probably impractical (price/my wife couldn't shoot it very easily)

Yeah, I've looked up information about it, including the price, so I figure I want the best to protect me with. Plus, cops are allowed open carry when off duty around here, so I wouldn't really need to hide it, but I like jackets, anyways.

To paraphrase another forum I visit, just because a Desert Eagle (or other gun) is ridiculously impractical and overly expensive doesn't make a fourteen-inch chrome-plated barrel with "Aim away from face" engraved on it any less awesome.

Air-rifle when I used to be in the scouts. I will admit, it felt nice. Just wish I had something a little more powerful with a lot more "bang". Like a real rifle or even a handgun.

Guns aren't legal over here but if they were and if it was actually going into production, it would be this...

http://www.boingboing.net/2010/02/13/flashlight-transform.html

If I had to choose one that is/was in production, it would be an MP5 or a Desert Eagle

This is truth. Unfortunately, due to the convoluted licensing laws here, it takes forever to get a license and most get turned down. So much envy for the places where it's easier...

"Most expensive" "Best". You could probably do just as well and have an extra grand to pocket for training/ammo if you went with a single-stack 1911.

I'm more of a rocket launcher guy.

Oh yeah, and shurikens-and-lightning-gun could be also nice for a first gun even without tits and being on fire
