Wow, this thread sure blew up fast...

I built a functioning Manchurian repeating crossbow [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chu_Ko_Nu] for a tenth grade history project...does that count?

This thread makes me slightly wish I lived in the US.

OT: My dad has a scoped air pistol. It's cool. He won't let me play with it -_-

I plan to get a license and gain ownership of a small handgun (stupid New York, AK-47s aren't allowed here >:O).

Probably the Walther P99 that a crazed ex-gf shoved in my ear while we were breaking up.

I seem to recall her pointing an unloaded M9 at me later that night. No idea where she got her hands on that.

If I ever move to America I'll probably try and get hold of some form of 9mm like a baby eagle.

Last time I went I really regretted not going to a gun range at least once, but the people I were staying with were very anti gun.

For some odd reason I can't work up the interest to go to one here.

I was thinking about a .357 magnum, pretty powerful but not ridiculous and it's a classic; in the same vein, I intend to get a good bow and some arrows, I was given the chance to try archery in school a few years ago and I liked it and felt I could get good at it.

If I were to get a gun it would probably be a .22 rifle.

I definitely don't need a handgun while I'm out on the town, but a small rifle to shoot spiders when they get in the house would be useful.
Thats what my first gun was.

Umm, a Tokyo Marui mk23 airsoft gun. I bought it some weeks ago for a live action role play we were having. Thinking about getting some AEG stuff later on.
Also, I was aiming at a spray can yesterday, and the bullet ricochet back and hit me in the eye :D I do have protective goggles, but you know the chance of it actually hitting ME in the EYE was so slim I didn't even consider wearing them for just 1 shot, and then it happened...
But I'm fine, it just hurt a bit and I cursed for a few second and it doesn't look like I got some bad damage in my eye or anything.

If Dirty Harry has taught me anything, it's this: get a gun you can intimidate people with, and you may never even have to use it. Unless the guy decides that he is, in fact, lucky, in which case you can still show him just how very wrong he is.

I think I'm a revolver kinda guy myself. For awhile I was a fan of the Colt Python (also known as "the Barry Burton special"), but recently I've learned that it doesn't really stand up to much punishment, and over time tends to fire less accurately. I think I'm more inclined towards the .44 Anaconda. When/if I get one, it'll probably be one with a 4 or 6 inch barrel. Not huge, but big enough to show someone you mean business, and powerful/accurate enough to do some damage if you absolutely have to.

The M4A1 Thompson. There's 2 variations of it, but they are essentially the same. There's the Tommy gun with the 50 round circle magazine, and the one used widely in World War 2, which has a 30 round magazine and a straight clip.

I've never actually owned a gun, but used them many a time. I'd say the first gun I fired was a 22 caliber rifle.

I'm sorry, I'm not fatally insecure about the size of my penis, nor do I live in the constant, paranoid fear that every other person on the street is looking to mug and kill me. Frankly most of the posts I've seen have done nothing to convince me any of you are mature or responsible enough to have anything more deadly than a butter knife. You're attitudes towards guns are so naive, but maybe that will change when it gets you or one of your friends/family seriously hurt.
Your views on gun owners are anything but mature. Most people I know (including myself) find guns to be an amazing technological feat, making a contraption that can potentially destroy things (emphasis on things, I'm a pacifist mind you) never before thought possible. Forgive gun nuts such as myself and others for thinking that guns are 'cool' and in some rare cases where the designer didn't fuck up the design; even sexy. I think your views on gun ownership are very limited by what you see perhaps locally and from Youtube videos of a redneck with a large-ish gun. And for the whole penis comment; how could I be over-compensating with a gun that fits nicely in the palm of my hand? My penis does that too.

All poorly aimed penis jokes (zing!) aside, I think you're the one being narrow minded here.

My first gun was a Red rider BB gun, a classic. Then i got a .22 LR, and ,for those of you who know what i am talking about, I mad a massive step ahead and got a .243 Savage Hunting rifle. I still shoot all 3.

What was it? or if you will be a gun owner Which one will you buy?

On my 21st birthday i am gonna pick up this lil beauty:

Its mainly of self defense, The way society is progressing you dont know when shit will hit the fan.

Serious answers are appreciated (someone will say BFG 9000) but whatever, have fun with it.
A five seven? Is that even legal? It really shouldn't be unless the cops turn into the combine or something (although I admit it is a pretty gun).

Anyway, I'd get me a Sig Sauer P226, then somehow modify to fit .357 SIG ammunition.

I don't own any guns at the moment (my parents are thoroughly European and thus thoroughly uninterested in guns), but I hope to buy a USP Compact chambered in .357 Sig when I've got the dough. I'd also love to start collecting WWII-era bolt-action rifles and sub-machineguns.

Its all you gun nuts that are killing society.
I have never once killed society.
Actually, statisticly speaking(I don't have a link, read it in Shotgun news) people like us, who take the time to learn our stuff and practice safe gun ownership, are the least likely to be involved in gun-related crimes, accidental shootings, and murderous rampages. It's idiots who screw with something they don't understand that cause problems.
