Bane I would assume has some form of apperence in the next movie. Be it a short stint, or a long role. But who would play him, I wonder? Who can do BIG, and also BADass at the same time?

Ras Al Guhl and Harvey Two-Face are my favorite of Batman's Rogues Gallery. So they can go anywhere they want now.

I will say this though, the rumors of Johnny Depp as the Riddler are something I'd like to see. It would fit well in the new series and their more realistic take on the Dark Knight. And let's face it, Johnny Depp rarely gives a performance that is anything less than top notch. I just hope they lean more toward the Animated Series version of E. Nygma when looking for inspiration. No one needs to see another Hollywood mainstay wearing green spandex with "?" logos all over it.

Harvey Dent is dead...but what about Two-Face? Nolan does seem to make a point of stressing that Harvey is dead, but nothing on Two-Face.

On-topic, I actually discussed this about a month ago with my brother-in-law. We came to the conclusion that probably the best options for a villain were The Riddler or Poison Ivy as an eco-terrorist if they wanted to keep the serious tone.

You're thinking of Two-Face in terms of Tommy Lee Jones' incarnation, where it's a direct split personality rather than an obsession with duality. Harvey Dent, as in the character, is dead and in the ground according to Nolan's press releases.

But yes, I agree with your idea of Ivy as an eco-terrorist, but as for the Riddler, I'd just like to see David Tennant get the position rather than Burton's golden boy. Sure Depp is good, but I think after his role as Crouch Jr. in The Goblet of Fire, Tennant can pull off a character as edgy as The Riddler. And anyone who's seen Doctor Who would agree that Tennant could pull off Nigma's narcisism with ease.

I sincerely hope that, when they dig Ledger's body out of the ground to star in the next Batman movie, it isn't too badly decomposed.

However, knowing that things ended bad for poor old Bruce. He'll probably be all whiny again. Making me remember the first part of Batman Begins. (Which I hated). It's either that, or he's going to be more aggressive and more dark....Which I personnally hope for...

I think a great path for this series to go in is into the mask of the phantasm part, it's dark and it has batman being blamed for murders he did not commit. The only thing wrong with this is they need a joker, and I would like to point out that MARK HAMILL IS AN AWESOME JOKER

They don't necessarily need the Joker. Sure, in the animated film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The Joker was there, the main focus was on the assorted crime lords who litter Gothem City. I do like that idea though: The Phantasm could be redone, so to speak, as one of the Batman copy-cats like from Dark Knight only, onlike the hockey dads, The Phantasm would be successfully killing off crime bosses. I think it would also be cool to incorperate Victor Szazs into the film too as a sort of Jigsaw like character. Batman will be trying to bring him to justice as The Phantasm is trying to simply kill the sadist

I want and insanely complex plot centered around the riddler with huge complex mysteries, i want a movie when a minute before the end, you are sure you know how its gonna turn out, and 30 seconds after the end, you're thinking OMGWTF, i never saw that coming, BEST ENDING EVAR, but they have to have the riddler, complex puzzles, and a decent actor to play the riddler

The missing year wouldn't work with the "realism" nonsense Nolan insists on running with. It would shatter the realism somewhat if Superman showed up and was like "Right lads, let's do this" and even if they didn't Dick Grayson would still be a child, a child one year older yes but a child neverthless, and Todd probably still wouldn't be born.

ok heres my two cents and some info that has now been confirmed

Reguarding Robin, Just like what "scrolls up" axia777 wrote. Nolan definetly doesnt want robin in any of the new batman films whatsoever. Even if he did he couldnt put the character in the movies. Robins origin, correct me if im wrong, is the son of commsioner Gordan. When Two Face kills Gordan his son vowes revenge upon him. Therefore he becomes Robin.
