We all have a favorite game, and I'm sure we all like to gush about it as much as the next gamer. But what about the bad qualities? What moment in your favorite video game really stands out as being very sucky to you?

For me, I would have to say the forced stealth section near the beginning of the Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker when you lose your sword as my least favorite moment of my favorite game. All I could think about near the beginning of the game was getting the chance to explore islands and slay evil monsters and whatnot, only to have my sword taken away from me.
That is exactly the same moment for me in the same game. The worst dungeon experience right up front. Your first dungeon experience in the game and it's confusing, frustrating and in no way sets you up for what the rest of the game is like.

Final Fantasy Tactics: Trying to get damn monsters to breed the rare types for poaching. Travel back and forth between two blue points on the map, and once you're done all the Propositions, you are literally only trying to get monsters to breed.

Skyrim: The Jarl's speech about the Greybeards. GAHHHH.

Pokemon: EV training and Nature breeding when you lack a parent with the correct nature, on top of that, Dreamworld abilities being tied to the female only. I wish EV training had a post game unlock tracker, or an option somewhere to show it, rather then "OH MY YOUR LITTLE DARLING SURE HAS WORKED HARD"

Also on pokemon Black 2 specifically: getting 50 medals unlocks a medal, and the challenge to get a 100 medals. Really???!!

Dark Souls: Blighttown. My family leaves the house while I'm working my way through Blighttown.

I dislike that I have to travel in the metal containers just to reach the bastard. Why would I want to purposely wrap myself up like a gift for the enemy? I'd rather have gone through a big platforming area instead of that.

Bioshock Infinite:
The freaking Siren. That ghost fight, why did you make it so hard? Funny thing is, I love everything about it, the sound design the concept, the visuals, everything except the fight itself. The premise is pretty cool, do I fight the underlings or do I cut off the head of the snake? Problem is, the head of the snake is a brick covered in kevlar and it's hard enough chewing through that without five guys blasting me the whole time.
I just finished that section on 1999 mode, and FUCK that was hard, stupid respawning enemies going everywhere. It took me at least an hour of trial, error and reload to get through it.

OT: I love the original halo, but that doesn't make the library any less tedious, the place is too dark and too same-looking for it to be enjoyable, which was disappointing, cause the previous level had a really good horror vibe going.

Wait, it's been a long time since I've played that game. Is that the one where you have to memorize the certain weak points on the enemy? And the specific one where you're given fuck'n 40 weak points to memorize in the span of 4 seconds? Christ on a stick, that was a pain in the ass! I taped a sheet of paper over my TV screen and marked with some sharpie, and I STILL wasn't able to get it! I just gave up and never completed it. I don't care how incomplete I feel inside, I'm not gonna strain myself for that shit!

I just beat the game for the first time a couple days ago. Fuck that part.

OT: I have more than one favorite game, so I'll try to go through all of them:

Knights of the Old Republic:

Sunry's trial on Manaan. When you have high persuasion skill, it's fine, but when you're going through a specific build, it's hell! And those goddam Selkath and their goddam language! Actually, you know what? Just fuck Manaan all together! I hated that planet!

Knights of the Old Republic II:

The opening level, the mining facility. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so goddam looooooooooooong...

Fallout 3:

The story and lore. Starts off great, goes to shit rrreeeaaalll fast. Everything else is fantastic, though!

Fallout New Vegas:

There's a myriad of things that piss me off about this game, but I'll just choose a specific part: Freeside. It was way too big for how much content was in it, making it a chore to trek through, and it felt so empty and incomplete. I'm fully aware of what could have been there, though. That actually pisses me off even more.

Ocarina of Time:

OTHER than the obvious one, the Fire Temple can be a pain in the ass if you're looking for all of the gorons... and if you have no idea what you're doing. :p

Majora's Mask:

The swamp dungeon. Not that I thought it was hard or anything [small](it's the first goddam dungeon, I'm not THAT incompetent)[/small], I just hated the atmosphere. And the color palette. Green, brown, and purple?! Ew... :p

Wind Waker:

Finding all of the Triforce shards. There was always that one that I needed a walkthrough for... Ugh...

Minecraft:

Spawning in a shitty world with crappy resources. Not to mention when it can be just plain ugly. :p

Pikmin:

Tank beetle. Are you really gonna make me Luke Skywalker that shit and aim for that tiny hole? Fuck you too!

Bioshock:

Becoming a Big Daddy. It felt so out of place in terms of atmosphere. I liked it when you were just a lone dude fighting for your life in an alien world, working with what you could get. Then you put on your super suit and kick ass. Granted, you were a plasmic god by that time anyway, but y'know... still. :p

I think that's it... for now at least. Though I doubt that I'm gonna rush back here if I remember anything. :p

Re:Coded was built from the ground up. It notonly had it's own engine, but all of the art assets were remade for it instead of using existing models. A lot of work for a rerelease of a mobile game if you ask me.

I liked 358/2 Days. Then again, I liked the original CoM more than the 3D rerelease.

I hate when developers change sounds. It messes with the flow of the game. You get used to certain sounds and use them as audio cues, and when they mess with that, it's jarring.
I didn't know Re:coded was entirely new. Interesting!

I did like Days during my first playthrough. But some months ago I came back to it, and all of its flaws just really stuck out. Couldn't be bothered to finish it.

Can't imagine what makes you prefer the GBA CoM, given Re:CoM is effectively the same game with freer movement and more content. Though it is missing the "one hell of a show!" line, which is arguably the best/most memorable line from the game.

There's not a lot very important in Blighttown, and nothing necessary. Why bother with any of it past the shortcut?

I would go on about how stupid the fact that the Accomplice bad ending even exists in Persona 4 Golden and how it breaks the entire theme of the game in half Mass Effect 3 style and you cannot explain it away to me as anywhere near a good idea I have counter-arguments! Ok deep breaths, moving on

Right i'm going to say that Persona 4 vanilla is literally perfect to be personally. Which is why I get prissy about Golden because you cannot improve on perfection and they messed around with it, seemingly without thinking too hard FUCKING ACCOMPLICE ENDING

That being said, as much as I love the first two hours of the game and I can sit through it multiple times without losing any interest, the bit where Teddie goes on at you being suspicious goes on entirely too long, especially for second playthroughs considering it's basically an exchange of "NO YOU!" If there was a skip feature that would be the one and only place I would use it.

Metroid Prime: I have a love/hate relationship with the underwater frigate section.

On the one hand before you get your gravity suit navigating it is extremely slow because your movement is hindered in water, and in general it's just much more boring than most other areas.

On the other hand though it has some of the best music in the game.

and it's kinda cool when you realize your navigating the sunken wreckage of the spaceship from the start of the game.

But I'd still say trying to climb succession of floating rocks in the large room where you battled the parasite queen is the worst part of the game. It's not fun, takes forever, and if you fall you have to start ALL over again.

Impact Crater from the first Metroid Prime.

Those... goddamn... fission metroids! Plus the squishing sounds when walking make me feel slightly uncomfortable. Also most of the Chozo Ruins after the chozo ghosts start appearing. I know I can run from them, but that doesn't make me feel any better about the maps they spawn in.

The stuff after the *spoiler* part in Bioshock. Everyone knows what I mean. Its just... meh.

Oh, plenty of bad game moments.

Dragon Age Origins: The fade. Kills the game's pace, is pretty nonsensical and is a bloody maze.

Mass Effect 3: if you know what I mean.

Persona 3: For some reason the minibosses kicked my ass much harder then the regular ones. That and Tartarus is an absolute pain.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. The bossfight against what once was your father is pretty bad with infinitely respawning baddies.

Legend of Zelda; Skyward Sword. One of the dragons makes you swim around collecting fish.........This is necesary to progress the story. It wasn't difficult but it was completely out of place, killed the pace, etc.

KOTOR II, two things.

1: Telos... that is all

2: That fucking ship after Nar Shadda, you know the one. I hate it in almost every RPG when I'm forced to play as another character while my vastly more powerful main character sits around with their thumb up their ass while their friends get killed.

I get it, but I did have 100% on my original PS2 version that I traded in a couple'a years ago. I was feeling nostalgic so I bought the HD release when it came out on PSN and I'm apparently having trouble in making lightning strike twice. I'll guess I'll just have to wait for my brother to come over and do that part for me so I can go on and beat the final boss.

I absolutely love Klonoa 2, but when you get to the arc levels, yes you revisit it after you work so hard to get it running to blow it the fuck up, you must often do loops around the areas to get the item from the end all the way round, like going all the way on this path to get the key, then loop, then get to the door, and you do this three times, there is a lot of backtracking in this area, I like a chance to think about puzzles, but there are puzzle ROOMS in the game that allow you to figure it out with all the pieces in front of you, rather than wander around looking for them.

Metal gear solid 4 - the 3rd Act- city sneaking part. Trial and error and made no sense- how did these guys get to their secret meetings before Snake was there to pave the way for them

Mass effect 2 - The DLC of hovering around on the mako hovercraft. Then Overlord too...you have to use that hovering mako again to shoot the forcefield generator and it takes like 10-15 minutes

Hitman bloodmoney - the tutorial. omg I lost my saves and now I have to play through this part again.
