The fans, mostly.

"The Japanese dub is always better."
No it's not. The voices are annoying, and the subtitles could be saying anything.
The Japanese dub does tend to be better a fair amount of the time though.
Some of the English dubs make me physically shudder.

And the English dubs are way more likely to be inaccurate than the subs are, due to changes made and references omitted to suit an English-speaking audience better.

I am sick of anime that use fan service as its main saleing point. I not a fan of it but I don't mind it in small doses. But I tired of shows that are nothing but under age girles with big tits and panty shorts and balless wipe main charactors. I'll admite it least animes like this is not trying to something its not. Its not trying to be deep. It now how it audience is. But is it just me or are a lot of animes coming out starting to be more like this.

Wedged-in-with-a-crowbar-Fanservice. Nothing smashes the immersion quite like it. I mean it's not like it's tough to do it in a coherent way that would be alright, since I'm fine with my characters having a sexuality - it's when they go 'ok there's this scene and then half way through it, yeah, let's have a panty shot and after that zoom RIGHT in on her tits.' COMPLETELY AT RANDOM. This usually then comes with the awkward machinegunlike giggle that punctures my ear drums.

That said, this is hardly an anime cliche. The amount of western TV shows and movies I've seen do basically the exact same thing...

It annoys me when there is a villain who, upon first appearence, beats the shit out of the main cast and is only defeated by a major fluke. Then they reappear and are defeated with a lot less effort and the next time they are beaten by the main heroes sneezing.
Eventually this leads to the enemy joining the good guys, for some reason or other.

I don't hate this but it does annoy me.

The "I win because I am the good guy / protecting my friend and for no other reason"

I can live with the over the top reactions though :p

And someone mentioned frame rate, anyone know of a 60fps anime? (Like the clannad after story intros with the girl in the world thing)
I told you about this, and it was Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. God damn it man, get round to watching the Ghost in the Shell movies. They are awesome.

Well the first one is. The second one is just good.

OT: When every English dub actors try and do the whole surprised gasp thing. It never works.
I am going to watch it :p, oh and english dubs, yeah, they annoy me (well apart from FMA)

I don't really watch anime anymore, so that's probably true, but the one's I do remember (Dragonball Z, One Piece and Outlaw Star) I preferred in English.

Well, I preferred the Funimation dubs of One Piece and Dragonball Z. 4kids' One Piece was awful.

To me, it'd be the whole "high-school" setting it itself. I'd not mind seeing something that is placed in the world of adults.

I have seen -one- animé that is believable in it's story: You're Under Arrest- a "Body Cop" show about two Tokyo Policewomen.
A good watch, and the only intended fan-service is as much part of the plot-line of the episode as much as it is eye-candy.

And, before I forget... the one-dimensional characters.
The whole "-dere" niche in the animé-world is a result of characters only have one or two personality types (see TVtropes for an explanation of the "-dere" concept), which turns characters either dark emo, or happy-go-lucky idiots.

Of course, these requests would make new material expensive and difficult to produce, but it wouldn't hurt to actually see shows that doesn't take more than four seasons for the characters to become "real" characters (why am I thinking of the long runners (Naruto, One Piece, Avatar, Bleach) in this one?).

There are exceptions to this: I can name a few, but I won't- they don't need to be mentioned or analysed.

Meh. At the very best a sub-style of the whole thing.

Compared with

this,

this,

this, and so on,

, I think anime doesn't really have much variety.
I'd like to counter that with:

I'm sure there's plenty more.

Do you know whether they are planning to dub K-ON? Imagine Yui in the english dub...

Really feminine guys and really loud, obnoxious girls. Maybe shit is really like that in Japan, I dunno...

This looks fucking insane. Is this actually a decent show though?

I was, after all, referring to all those animes that people can't seem to shut up about.
I used to watch it when I was a kid, I can't remember much.
It's about some kid who liked to moon people and just generally be inappropriate. I think they had to start censoring it after a while.

I can't imagine it was too good storyline-wise though. :p

I've never watched K-ON, so I don't really know much about it.

Most popular anime tends to get English dubs at some point though.

Why is everyone white? Shouldn't everyone be Japanese or at least look more Asian? Hegemony sucks.

Single Stroke Battle [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SingleStrokeBattle]

It's not limited solely to anime, but I absolutely cannot stand this.
