I had the strategy Guide...NOTHING Suprised me....

Oh wait! the halucenagenic (typos) Vault where everything went purple and you saw things scared the shizz out of me. Example you walk down some stairs and look through an internal window & the room is Upside down...Walk through the door & its all normal...walk back too the window & its all normal...

And realising you can blow up a vertibird...Oh the smile :D

And a downer note - I managed to break two side quests, the key mission (the one where you get the old power armour one (i killed the ghoul after accepting the quest) and the Tenpenny tower quest.

Still, 100 hours of gameplay i thoroughly enjoyed, But yet too match my 244 of hours on oblivion (which i played again today...its not aged well at all.)

First time I met a Behemoth, it hit me with its fire hydrant. Took my head clean off with one hit. I was laughing so hard I didn't care that I was dead.

Seeing certain blue apparations while exploring a Vault. Totally creeped me out and messed with my head. I'm being vague for fear of spoiling. Hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about.

The part where you don't get to play the game after you beat it. Yay for DLC.

If you were scared by that then don't buy point lookout.

i was out looking for minefeild when i went through the junk yard, i found two raiders and tried to fight them, they had better guns (i was a very low level) and started thinking to myself while hiding behind a hill, i really wish i had some help, i looked over the hill and went into vats and saw a dog running towards the fight, i though "oh great they have a dog with them" i then saw the name "dogmeat" and since it was in green i decided to watch what happend

i was happy :D

a scaryer moment was when i was in a newspaper place and i decided to get on one of the computers and read it, it was an entire story of killings done by a kid walking around in a clown mask with a knife (aka the pintsize slasher) and with no enemys in their i was starting to freak out but decided to keep going further, found a dead body with a message (search the house which is for a small house (in a house) in minefeild) and with the new point lookout DLC you can get the mask.

a funnier moment was when i went into a building to loot it, i found a robot on a circle platform with a computer on the wall, i acrivate the computer and chose the option for it to read a bedtime story, the robot got up, floated into the remains of some kids' bedroom and started saying a bedtime story to a burnt skeleton

also, all of the dunwhich building

My most suprising moment was when the end cutscenes finished and I realised that the game had, indeed, ended.

I was surprised because the ending was horrible and instantly made me stop playing it. It also made me feel like everything I had done in the game was a complete waste of my time.

I guess all games are a waste of time, but this more-so. I was not a happy bunny.
Quit trolling.
That's not trolling. It's his honest opinion. And I agree with him. Bethesda made a bad move in making this game end. They get 10 bucks from me because I find it a good enough reason to buy Broken Steel, but come on. A sandbox game should only end once you've ran out of things to do.

I did love the game the whole time, but the ending did the same thing to me. I played every possible ending scenario, and it just slightly changed the narration. Like, rather than the narrator basically calling you a coward if you let the "real hero" make the sacrafice, shouldn't you be able to play out more of the game in a land with clean water? And why can't my radiation friend go in, it makes him stronger anyway.

Anyway, of course I ultimately commited to dying my own death, the game is really about father and son, so it was fitting to die where father died, he too sacraficing himself for the greater good. And that final picture of the two of us together at the very end can be quite effective.

I did feel like I wasted a lot of time of my life collecting tin cans in the wasteland for my vaccuum gun, and all those trips back to my home in Megaton when I was overencumbered with parts for things I could build myself. The two lockers were filled with clothes and supplies, and my fridge was filled with an entire arsenol of every gun to repair with.

The game surprisingly ended (to me at least) before I could make proper use of any of that.

I agree that that's not trolling. It was surprising, and it wasn't a pleasant one. It marred the game that I otherwise love.

Uhh wow, lots of surprises in this game. I'd have to say seeing Fawkes survive 4 mini-nukes was pretty amazing. Obviously the first deathclaw attack was suprising. I remember seeing it from a distance thinking "oh they can't be that bad; I can kill it by the time it reaches me." Obviously I was wrong... The troggs in The Pitt were scary as hell and moved real fast. Also at one point I saw a little raider running around with a Firelance, she 1-shotted me =(. One of the most suprising enemies though were the new feral ghouls from Broken Steal, Reavers or Ravagers...They have a godly amount of health!

I saw a Deathclaw. I shot the Deathclaw. The Deathclaw died. Five other Deathclaws faced me in the distance.

I shat myself, needless to say.

Indeed. The robot tells the poem to the corpses of two dead children. You can ask it to walk the dog too. Of course it finds the dog's dead corpse, and goes batshit crazy.

In point lookout when the calvert mansion blows up, i was just minding my own business walking to the door then BOOM.
That was pretty awesome, my character actually flew backwards from the explosion.
My guy put his arms up to his face, then sort of shook it off. I think it depends how close you are to the blast.

Alright, I have a few, some are pretty funny and confusing

The first I can always go to (it happens whenever I load this one certain save) once I load it, Three Dog shouts 'Three Dooog!' like he normally does on the radio, but the game glitches, and two robobrains and an outcast body always fly off, its weird but funny.

The second one happened at Evergreen Mills (whatever it is...its the place with all the raiders and the behemoth), I was on higher ground, shot a raider with a hunting rifle, killed him, but the game glitched and launched him into the air, and now he just literally (im not even joking) he flies around the waste land, glitching around, and his body is all stretched out so he just flails around, hes kinda like a super hero or something. So from time to time out in the wasteland, ill just see The Super Raider flying around.

And the third one, isnt that great, but one time I shot a molerat and instead of getting decapitated like normal, his head blasts off like team rocket, it was pretty funny.

The lastly, if you want an epic moment, it was in Broken Steel when Liberty Prime blows up, at the time my friend was over, and he was talking to me, so I wasnt paying attention, when BAM, he blows up, and it was like an action movie, I try and take cover behind the nearest rock, and Brotherhood member's body parts are flying all over, epic stuff.

Seriously, when it went into the children's room and recited that poem it creeped the hell out of me. But yeah... I'd have to say my most surprising Fallout 3 moment wasn't so much surprising as it was annoying. I was doing the Wasteland Survival Guide quest and was asked to go into Minefield. I go in and immediately someone opens fire on me. After some looking around I notice a fellow by the name of Arkansas with a sniper rifle. I also notice some rocks over-looking his perch.

So I left town, went around the rocks, shot Arkansas in the back of the head with my sniper rifle, looted his corpse and completed the quest. When I got back I was quite tempted to shoot Moira Brown in the face for lying to me.

Vault 106 creeped me out a lot, the random flash backs to Vault 101 really threw me off.
It reminded me a lot of FEAR. I did not need to be reminded about FEAR.

Recently on my way to Vault 92 (I think it was 92, the one with Agatha's violin in it) I came across not one, not two, not even three, but motherfucking six Deathclaws.

The first one spotted me before I spotted it, I couldn't draw my weapon fast enough, and it sliced my head off in one go. That was awesome.

I've seen people say that they were surprised when they met president eden, but I wasn't. I had this nagging suspicion that he wasn't really human all game. Just as I was walking into the room to meet him I said to my friend, "he's a computer." I have this strange psychic ability to predict plot twists right before they happen. I can't control it. That said, my most surprising moment might have been figuring out the true identity of A3-21.
