Stella for me at the minute.

Uh.. There was some stuff back in Australia that was called Blue Vodka. It was really diluted vodka with a sort of bubblegum flavour. That's the only alcoholic drink that's even remotely tolerable to me.
WKD? o_O

I wouldn't let any of your mates (or anyone else, ever) know that's what you drink xD

It'll probably give you a heart-attack too.

I'd just suggest a lager for you're first drink, but thats just because I hate cider :p
What is a lager?

*looks at Wikipedia*

Oh... What would you recommend then? Do you know any Canadian brews?
Sorry, being a Brit I dont much Canadian beer at all, but can you get Budweiser over there? Thats popular in the USA I think, so it's a possibility?
*snip*
Snipped out the stuff I'm not commenting on to avoid a giant post. Just because Budweiser is popular doesn't mean it's good. If you can find Samuel Adams I'd get that. So much better.

OT, favorite drink of mine has got to be Jack Daniels whiskey mixed with Doctor Pepper. So good.
Least favorite drink is a red headed step child. Was something like peach schnapps, vodka, pineapple juice and something else all mixed. That was horrid tasting.

I like to start with a short glass of a citrusy, sweet drink, then add a couple shots of spiced rum.

Absolutely delicious, without causing liver damage.

Probably best to quote the guy who was asking the question, not me :p

I don't drink at all, but I'll answer for my girlfriend because she drinks enough for both of us. She prefers Polish vodka (can't stress enough - Polish only, not Russian and definitely not French), dry red wine, Jagerbombs and Frangelico/Baileys/Kahlua kind of stuff. For beers she likes Heineken, Corona and Coopers Clear. She absolutely does not like heavy beers, rum or "rockstar" drinks (JD, Jim Beam etc).

It has actually surprised me that with today's science there has not been a non flavored, no taste alcoholic beverage released yet.
What so it would be like alcoholic water?

It would be boring as fuck, and a lot of people drink for the taste, not just to get pissed. So that would be kinda pointless.

Good ol' Wifebeater :D
Exactly "a lot people" when there would likely be a huge market for people who just want the effect without the taste. In this thread for example how many people have posted not liking the taste of various alcoholic drinks?

Yeha, but you can get so many different tastes from alcaholic drinks. Ciders and perry are sweet, and you can get stuff like Vk and WKD which is basically like sugary fruit juice with booze in it, and of couse theres a multitude of different tastes in beers, ales, lagers and all the different kinds of spirits. Theres something for everyone as far as taste goes, so why would you want somethign tasteless when you could have something that tasted nice?

I dunno, just seems kinda silly to me, but thats jsut my view :p

Well, that's basically what clear vodka is trying to achieve - 40% alcohol content but with as little smell and taste as possible. Of course this is an impossible benchmark and the stuff still smells and tastes rank because alcohol is very strong stuff, but when people talk about the "smoothness" of vodka what they are really saying is "this stuff has been distilled to the point where it doesn't taste as gross as vodka usually does". The idea is that with a really good quality vodka, if you put it in a lemonade, OJ or some other mixer, it won't taste as obvious as cheap vodka, which means you can put more in and get more alcohol concentration for the same amount of "taste degradation".

I'm not really a huge drinker, only really at social events with close friends.

But when I do drink, I go straight for the Vodka. No mixing, just shots. Burns so good :). That stuff fucks me up quick, I go from sober to trashed like that.

I can't stand beer, though. It all tastes like piss water to me.

I like rum. I am not overly picky about the kind, i just like rum.

Beer is ok, i like to mix vodka with stuff, and i am starting to get a taste for whiskey.

But rum still wins.

Most alcoholic beverages taste like cough syrup to me, with the exception of strawberry daiquiri's, the sugar covers the alcohol.

My favorite beer is definitely Yuengling. It's a local lager brewed in Pennsylvania, so you can't get it many places outside of PA and the surrounding states, but it has a great strong flavor usually reserved for more expensive and/or European brews. I'm also a fan of Sam Adams Boston Lager, any beer that could go to Oktoberfest and have the Germans say "Damn, that's a good lager," has to be good.

As for stronger drinks my favorite is a Captain and Coke, however while I promise I'm not a sideways baseball cap wearing Halo kegger throwing frat boy, I am partial to a Jäger Bomb (shot of Jägermeister dropped in a glass of Red-Bull) on occasion. When having a get together with friends and looking to get trashed and play some MOTHERFREAKING VIDEOGAMES a great option is Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka mixed 50/50 with Lemonade Iced Tea with plenty of ice. To taste it you'd be convinced you were just drinking a glass of iced tea, but since half that glass is 80-proof vodka you'll quickly realize you aren't.

Lastly, a drink that I implore you to try as unbelievably strange and perhaps unappealing as it sounds, is a shot of Jameson whiskey chased with a shot of pickle juice. That's not a liqueur or something, I just mean the juice from a jar of pickles. It was on the menu at a bar near me and was captioned with "Sounds strange, but you've gotta try it!" so try it I did, and you would be shocked as to how well the flavors compliment each other. One of the best shots I've ever had.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRR!

Specifically that from Spalt in Germany.

I like beer because it is tasty and good for warding off people who want you to get drunk.
