Never really had an "OH SHIT! RUN!" moment in a game (other than a MMORPG), but the first time I ever had an "OH SHIT! RUN!" equivalent moment was when I played Resident Evil for the first time and those fsking dogs come CRASHING thru an outdoor window into a hallway I was proceeding down. That scared the BEJESUS out of me and I emptied every clip I had into them.

Try just wandering around and exploring , then all of a sudden you hear footsteps and battle music, I check my radar and some enemey was behind me, I turn around and see a molerat thing coming, then I relaise it's big, Then I relaise it's huge, then I relasie "Holy Shit ! It's a devil !" I ran backwards tryna to shoot at it with what ever gun seemed to do damage but no point... I was slaughtered, gutted and bludgened.

First Encounter with a Deathclaw.

Another time was in MGS4 during the Raging Ravens boss fight, I only had one more shot to get from my Mosin Nagant to take the damn bird down, I do a roll, turn, aim, First person view, my crosshiar is right on her head, I press R1, "Click" .... (Oh shit I'm out of ammo !) at the same time she shot grenade at me, I rolled just in time to avoid....

I thought they leveled up with you? Eh, maybe that was just Oblivion. Man that idea was stupid.

There's one Overlord that's static, the rest are upgraded Super Mutants (to make up for the fact that a regular SM goes down in one shot when you're at level 30). OverweightWhale, you deserved it. At level 3, stay out of D.C.


Many people have mentioned running from the tank. Me? I've stood down Tanks on Expert in Left 4 Dead 2 - I once clubbed one in the face 5 times, screaming "WHY WON'T YOU DIE?"

My first playthrough of the Swamp Fever campaign in that game, my team was being shredded by Infected, but we had seen two hordes and thought it would soon be over. I was shooting as a tank coming from the front of the house, saying, "I see the tank! It's climbing up the balcony!"

"No, it's coming up the stairs! We gotta get out of the house!"
"Get inside! It's coming in!"
"Run outside, we can trap it in the house!"

I go into the balcony door and see a second tank, the one my teammates were yelling about. I just turned, jump, and ran all the way to the boat. At that point, we had no chance of taking down 2 tanks. I made it, by jumping over some obstacles when my adrenaline wore out.


In Oblivion, my Oh Shit! RUN! Moment was when I met 3 cave trolls at level 2. I was just exploring aruond, and was forced to flee all the way to a distant settlement.

In Red Faction: Guerrilla, I was hiding from EDF forces inside a big building, aiming at the entrance of the room I was in to pick off any troops that popped their heads around the corner. Then out of nowhere, this EDF vehicle comes plowing through the roof/wall behind me (curved roof) and went over my head, exposing me to all of the people on top of the hill behind the building, and blocking off the exit to the room, as well as having a heavy machine gunner spraying at me from point blank range. I shot the gunner, pulled out my hammer and started smashing my way into the neighbouring rooms. That was indeed an OH SHIT moment. The car came out of bloody nowhere and destroyed my cover completely.

Ah, you got the supermutant overlord death special too?? Fun wasn't it?

I remember that time too, I had beaten the game once already before the supermutant overlords were introduced (Xbox360) and I saw one of them in Little lamplight. I was somewhere between level 8-13, can't exactly remember. I had dumped all my experience points into repair and science. I saw him from a distance, took note of my low ammo and fired on him with a perfectly repaired combat shotgun and not enough shells to kill him. As I get closer to him while firing, that's when I realized that it was no ordinary supermutant, and that I was going to die rather quickly.

I also got slaughterd by a supermutant overlord.
I was like level 3 and I was trying to get to rivit city to buy some better weapons from the market. So I was going through the Citidel parking lot when I see 3 laser beams shoot from the ground in the distance and vaporize a BoS soldier that was in a tower. And of course my first instinct was to shoot the thing with my best weapon at the time (a damaged hunting rifle) I hit him once and it did almost nothing. So that is the point where I thought OH SHIT RUN! But he shot me twice effectivly vaporizing me.

First time i went to The stockade in WOW.

My party was of three people a lvl25 paladin, a lvl20 rogue, and a lvl20warrior(me).

When i saw that my party got killed liked in 10 seconds, there i got really scared and i ran away screaming.I still got away alive though.

My most recent one would be in BFBC. I was defending one of the "things" when three tanks roll down the street towards me. Two guys jump out of each of them and drivers start destroying my building. At that point I was well past "Oh shit, run!" and into "I'm completely fucked..."

In the second level sewers, after you alert the horde in that one room, I went ahead to the large pipe while my friends got the ammo and health.

There was a Tank. I just screamed and ran.
My friends asked me, "Frank, where the hell are you go- Oh Shit, RUN!!!"

A truly classic moment.

I can give a half moment. In Left 4 Dead on Dead Air, just as we got to the end of the second map and you arrive at the airport, we made it across the skyway to the safehouse. All was well until a tank spawned in the saferoom. In my "Oh shit, RUN!!" frenzy, I shut the door out of instinct. BOOM, tank trapped, I win. My team and I just laughed and shot it.

Fallout 3, walking about near Old Olney. I spot a deathclaw far away and empty a sniper clip on it. Being close to dead and coming in my direction really fast I grab my laser pistol and keep on shooting until it falls over. What I didn't realize was that during this a second deathclaw snuck up behind me and was about to slap me across the face as I turned around. Needless to say I was scared shitless and I started running, then I realized I was packing the Terrible Shotgun, so I shot myself full of stimpaks, turned around and blindly started firing... a full clip later I calmed down enough to kill it proper.
