If the Vay armor were anywhere near as awesome as the plot made it out to be, I'd say Vay.
(Why are there so many pictures of shirtless men and images of Shadow and Sonic the Hedgehog making out in Google image searches for images from that game, anyway? That's not some kind of dig at how little protection the legendary armor actually provided in-game,huh?!)
If giant mechs like Gears (from XenoGears) count, then one can't do better than XenoGears itself.
Of course, if it would be possible to make it look like KOS-MOS, that would be the very first improvement upon the God Gear that would be made.

Culture Gel suit, or one of the more recent Iron Man armors (preferably with an Extremis upgrade to myself).
Mandalorian Neo-Crusader. The stuff is air tight, so I could go into space, has a built in stealth field generator, and its made of beskar, which is all but indestructible, only being breakable by a very powerful thrust from a lightsaber.
I would choose a stealthy Nanosuit perfect for performing stealth operations and generally not being noisy.

I think I'd go with a sort of combination of Guyver, Eva, and Gundam, that looks like Karas (or something close to it). I know all of these are from Japan, but they capture all of the qualities I look for in armor: sonic blades, magic, lasers, S2 engines, and possibly tentacles (it is Japan, after all).
As long as it controls my body temperature, I'm good. I'd like to stay in the -5 to 5 degrees celcius range please.

Hmm... If i get a the motoslave/roid to go with it, i'd probably say a Hard Suit from bubblegum crisis (old version)
First off, I fail to see the downside... If I ever got power armour I doubt I'd take it off unless I absolutely had to!
