Lisa briefly shook her head in response to Adries then turned to Jack again.
"That's all depending on whether you're just going to talk to him?"

"I'm already working on the assumption he is on your list, even though you forgot to add him. So yes, this is just an introduction. Besides the only ones who need to fear for their lives from me are the military, your sister in due time, and anyone carrying the last name Bixler or share their blood." Jack said as he straightened himself up a bit in preparation for the meeting.
"I can give you my word or a blood oath that no harm will come to him. It is your choice, whichever makes you feel more secure in this dealing."

Lisa winced a little at the run down of those who were in danger, but recovered and gave him a secure nod.
"I'll take your word for it. A blood oath seems extreme anyway."
She turned, not too sure where JD had gone anyway.
"Excuse me, JD can you come out here for a minute?"

She gave a soft smile, then gestured to Jack.
"This is Jack Fletcher. He's here to speak, that's all." Lisa explained.

Jack held out his hand for JD to shake.
"So you are the newest member of the unluckiest band of survivors in the world. As she already said my name is Jack, I'm sure Adries has told you about me by this point, probably about how evil I am." Jack introduced himself.

((Well suffice to say the last 88 pages are really not needed to understand what is going on, and most of the characters will explain what has happened if asked. We are far enough that there are plenty of decent weapons to be had, and not far enough that new characters are impossible to add.))

I find evil to be a relative term in this situation, as I believe myself to be freeing humanity from the greed, arrogance, and selfishness that caused this whole mess in the first place. The Bixler will tell you more, I'm sure, but they were the cause of it all from beginning to end. To make a very long story short though, I lead the zombies." Jack explained as he pulled his hand back. He looked at Lisa.
"Tell the soldiers their bases are in ruins. Now, on to more important things. None of you here would happen to know anything about the current whereabouts of the notes, would you?"

"I just wish you would point a gun at me so I would have reason to kill you. I still owe you for that punch to the chest from a while back though, so I will consider this repayment of that debt." Jack said calmly before punching her in the face, knocking her to the ground. His eyes had turned red in his anger.
"Remember in the new pecking order you and everyone else in the group is below Lisa. Should any of you ever step out of line or fall out of her good graces, I will know, and I will kill you. I have eyes and ears everywhere, and you will never escape my grasp. No matter how far you run or where you hide, I will always be able to find you and kill you." Jack sighed and calmed down before walking back over to JD.
"My apologies for my actions. The Bixlers have a way of getting under my skin that nobody else posses. Arrogance in the face of an apocalypse of their own creation infuriates me to no end." Jack said looking into JD's eyes and seeing the barest hint of red that matched Jack's own eyes in anger. He reached out with his mind to find the extremely quiet but recognizable voice of JD as he walked back to his position.
Even as he said his goodbyes to Lisa and had the scorcher teleport him back to his base in the Police HQ he reached out to that voice to speak to it.
'My child, respond if you can hear my thoughts.' He said to the voice of JD in his mind.

"If you actually had half a brain you'd remember that punch was a payback...dipshit," Adries managed to say, spitting out some blood and wiping the rest off.

"Adries, are you okay?" Lisa asked quickly, darting to where she'd been standing. She'd had a bad feeling in her gut, but what she had done had given them some time. She turned to face Jack as he bid farewell to her, she had nothing to say before turning back to Adries.
"Fine," Adries said, wiping some more blood off before standing up, "God, felt like I got hit by a car. My head is killing me. Lots of cuts in my mouth. I think a few loose teeth...hopefully those don't fall out. That'd suck. At least we made it out alive."
JD ran over to Adries.
“Wow. I would've never thought that Mr. Fletcher was the kid-hitting type.” JD joked, dusting Adries off.
Then he heard a voice.
A voice that wasn't his own. But it wasn't Adries or Lisa's either. He shook off the voice, thinking it was his imagination. But something didn't seem right about it.
“Hello?” he said, calling out to it.
