"Alright then." Jack said before turning towards the recruits.
"Now I'm going to tell you all basic firing range etiquette. The only rule you need to worry about is that if I or anyone else is out on the range, all of you keep the safeties on and the gun on the table. If I catch even one of you with the gun in your hands, much less firing, when someone is on the range, I'll tear you a new one. Now each of you take a stall and await further instructions." Jack watched as everyone took a stall at the indoor firing range.
"To your right is a target in the shape of a human, hook it up and move it to half distance. Once that is done you may pick up your weapon, but do not turn the safety off." He waited until all the targets were at half range.
"Make sure the front sight is clear, the back is blurry, and you don't have your non-aiming eye closed. Turn the safety off, aim for the center of the body of the target, and fire five rounds." Jack heard each gun discharge five times.
"Turn your safety on, put your gun down, and bring the target back." Jack walked through seeing fairly decent groupings in the center of the target. Everyone had obviously shot before, now was the hard part of breaking them from the habit of body-shooting.
"Send the target to half range again, and fire five shots into the head of the target." Jack repeated this process at different ranges multiple times, having to give minor corrections but not much else.
