"...You've got it. I'll be back later on then. You know I'm a woman of my word." Christie said finally, before turning and leaving, she gave a brief nod to the guard who let her in, before taking her other weapons and leaving, her mind still working about how she'd do the deed.

(((Think i'll leave it at there for now! Night!)))

((goodnight))

Jack immediately went back to sitting as he had been with his eyes closed, content he would be able to get what he now wanted.

((A lot has happened since the last time you posted. I don't even remember the last time you did. Your character isn't dead, they're probably just at the school still.))

Adries nodded, following Lisa into the busy clinic. It wasn't as active as it had been, but there were still numerous people there for injuries from the smoke monster. Adries looked at the names of everyone there when Dr. Westin snuck up behind her to tell her not to peek at things.
"Oh! Well, I was just looking," Adries replied quickly.
"It's alright dear, I'm just giving you a hard time. So, what brings you two here?"

"Oh, hello Doctor. We're sorry to intrude. We were hoping to speak with you for two reasons. Number one, Do you have any idea where Alan's lab is? We were hoping to visit him. And second when we return from seeing him, we've been told to do work, Would you mind me working on injuries?" Lisa asked politely, startled by her sudden appearance.

"Alan? I believe he was relocated to the building next to the office. It's a greenish color if I remember," Dr. Westin said, after a moment of thinking, "And yes, dear you can work here. We certainly need the help. We aren't getting as many injuries, but it's still a lot to deal with."

"Thanks Doctor Westin," Adries said, waving goodbye as they left the clinic, "Alright, now where do we go?"

((Going to go for awhile. Later! ))

"The building next to a green office. Now it's adventure time trying to find it. Although at least they were nice enough to colour code their buildings..." Lisa replied after waving too; scanning the courtyard.

"Ah-ha. Do you think that's it?" She asked pointing over to a green block building in the distance, past the armory.

((Later!))

((Back for like an hour, then off to my brother's house for quite awhile.))

"Argh, I hate colors," Adries said, looking at the green building Lisa was pointing to. "Well it's next to a big, white building that says 'Office' so let's try it." She started to run towards it, getting stopped multiple times by trucks and jeeps driving by.

She made it over to the building, which was being guarded by two men. She approached them, "Hey...uh can we see Alan?"
"Sorry ma'am, no one can come in without permission."
"WHAT!? That's my brother in there and if you don't let me in I'm going to cry!" Adries yelled to the now shocked and confused soldier. The senior of the two went inside quickly to go see if they could come in.

"There, there, dear Adries." Lisa said putting a hand on her shoulder, speaking in a reassuring tone.

"We've had a tough morning and hoped to see him before returning to work. She and her brother are very close, you see. So you can understand why she's upset." She glared at the soldier left behind, then lowered her head slightly.

The soldier looked very uneasy, and there was a silence before the senior guard came back and let them in. They passed by Kaufman who gave a quick hello before leaving.

Alan was sitting at a desk, his face almost pressed against the desk as he wrote something. His hair had been buzz cut and he was now clean shaven. Adries approached, trying to sneak up but stubbing her foot against the table.
Alan looked up and over to them, "Oh hey, how are you guys?"
"Good...I have to tell you Al, this new look makes you look..." Adries started, trying to find the word.
"Look...awesome? Cool?"
"Old."
"I'm sorry what?"
"It makes you look old! You like like you're in your mid to late 20s instead of your early twenties!"
"S-shut up! At least my hair cut doesn't make me look like a dyke!"
"S-shut it! That's not true! You're such an asshole."

Lisa let out a short bout of giggles at the two of them, she stopped after a few moments shaking her head.
"Sorry, but if you were listening to you two, you'd laugh too." She apologized still smiling, taking a much less sneaky stroll over to the desk and greeting him, "Hi."

"Hello. From our angle it's just the banter that we always do. I guess it's funny," Alan said, thinking about all the times he and his sister had done this.

"Heh, it is pretty funny. So, what'cha working on?" Adries asked, taking a seat on the desk.
"The perfect recipe for cookies, what do you think?" Alan asked, trying to shoo her off of the desk.
"Ohh...what type? Chocolate chip? Peanut butter? Christmas sugar cookies?!?" she asked excitedly, jumping out of her brother's reach.
"The zombie cookie type," he replied, giving up on working for the time being, "It's stressful. First I had to tell everyone where to put everything, and then they still mess up! And now I have to wait until they get the stupid notes. If they can't then I have to work on figuring everything out, which will take forever..."

"That whole crashless sugar plan is on hold too with the perfect cookie recipe, i guess." She said with a feigned frown the continuing,
"So, do you have any idea where the laptop is? or is it guarded by zombie ninjas or something? Because from what we've heard, finding it requires a lot of planning." Lisa asked, leaning over his shoulder, trying to get a look at what he'd been working on.

"Seemingly they're just about to start scouting out the people who have it. They told me they'll get it, but they have to be very cautious. It's over at another army base, and they know that they have something important. It's all very boring planning, I just want the stuff. Max said he'd ask for volunteers tonight to be a part of the operation," Alan said, noticing Lisa looking at the almost unreadable writing, "Don't even bother trying to read it. The only person who can is Adries and that's because her writing is even worse."

"Not by much," she replied.

((Going to go now. Bye bye! ))

She spent some more moments reading a few words then deciding to leave it with a nod.

"Don't worry. Once planning is over, they'll ship out and get it in no time. Considering that these notes are like the holy grail, i doubt they'd give up easily." She said with some optimism, still leaning on the chair.
"How long have you been up then? Considering that we got our wake up call not too long ago?" Lisa asked, non-too-pleased with remembering how she'd been woken up.

"Well, I couldn't sleep so around midnight I asked if I could be moved here along with everything I need. Then spent the next few hours telling people where I want things, and since then I've been working non-stop," Alan replied, gesturing to all the papers and random pieces of equipment.

"I don't see how you can survive with so little sleep," Adries said, shaking the thought of not sleeping from her head.

"It's pretty amazing actually. But promise to get a nap in or some sleep tonight? It's not good for you, even if you seem more awake than either of us." Lisa said with some concern whilst looking at some of the equipment, being careful not to disturb anything.

She couldn't help but be interested at some of it; giving a strange reminder of a movie about vaccines and research into them, she'd seen in a science class years ago.

"Bah, who needs sleep? I don't. After awhile I'll just collapse for a few hours and then get back to work. It's an endless cycle," Alan said with a mix of seriousness and joking.

"So...like the college days? While everyone in your dorm partied you studied non-stop," Adries asked, getting a nod from Alan.
"Exactly, except this is a lot more important than some studying and college classes, even if those classes helped me to understand this..." Alan replied.

Lisa looked over a vial before turning back to the two of them.
"Well, if it's gratifying now, the work was worth it in the long haul. I don't think the rest of your dorm could've used their chugging skills to find safety...Although I would've liked to see how that would work..." She imagined for a moment before continuing,
"But my hat goes off to you being able to survive on that amount of sleep and still function. Let alone work on anything as complicated as this."

"Lisa you obviously don't know that chugging skills are the most important part of science!" Alan said jokingly, turning back to his work, "I'm happy you guys came over to talk to me, but I'm going to get back to work now."
"Argh, now we actually have to go do mundane jobs and mingle with other people," Adries said with reluctance.
"You have fun with the mingling, and the job I guess too. It'll give you something to do other than doing nothing all day," Alan said, hovering over his work and scribbling away.
"I guess you're right, though I wouldn't mind being lazy," Adries said.
