So, someone else made a "what not to do in zombie infection" thread and I figured I'd start up the other half of the conversation.

So... What's your zombie plan?

I'm going to the big-ass mall near here, clearing it out, then making use of the food, the generators, the hardware stores, and the security gates. I'll make sure to make enough noise that the zombies outside the mall are distracted for the rest of you survivors in BC, but nobody's getting into my haven.

Hide in the mall, like any sane person.
Isn't that what everyone in the area will at least try to do?

I guess I'd try and hold up somewhere safe like the attic with all the food I can get, then slowly go insane from lack of social interaction and the paranoia and anxiety that the zombies will get me and kill myself.

Take boat to Block Island. Or perhaps Three Mile Island. Both have great source of energy (Wind Power and Nuclear Energy)

Also, block island is small enough to be able to effectively patrol, but large enough to grow crops on.

Ahh... Now if I remember a conversation I had with my friend:

Friend: What would you do if zombies came?
Me: I would start cooking a ton of bacon.
Friend: Umm? what the heck?
Me: Everyone loves bacon and if this is the kind of zombie plague where it's not a virus being spread and it's just hunger that causes the zombies to bite people then serving them a load of bacon sandwiches would cause them to be all "Cheers dude, it's just what we needed see yah later" and they would go away and we would all be safe.
Friend: *Casually backs away* I have things to do in that direction... *Sprints*
Me: Damn it now I want some bacon... *Sadface*

Pretty much somes it up, if that fails then I will go to my emergency zombie attack safehouse (Yes i'm paranoid enough to have one) and live there for a few months until I get bored and decide to go rambo and try to exterminate every zombie that is able to move.

The problem with the "I'm gonna hide out in Walmart" plan is that EVERYONE has that plan. It's not sustainable, and it could, in fact, prove to be a lot of folks' violent and untimely undoing.

(I'm sorry, I'm writing my own zombie apocalypse story, and I've been doing fucktons of research about zombie plans and such. XD)

Anyway: My zombie plan.

-Find effective melee weapon. (I have never handled a gun before, but I've been trained to use a lot of heavy tools that would make excellent melee weapons--such as rock-bars. Perhaps using a melee weapon would be slower or less badass than using a gun, but it would be safer, in my case.)

-Fight only small groups or single zombies, run when confronted with larger groups. (I'm only one person, and I wouldn't take my chances in trying to take on enormous groups alone. That's just tempting fate.)

-Seek the company of other survivors. (As badass as being a lone survivor sounds, it's also not a good idea. You have to sleep sometime. You have to stop to eat sometime. You have to go take a crap sometime. You need someone to keep an eye on things while you take your breaks.)

-Find a decent place to live, preferably on arable land near a river or a big lake. (Who knows when or if society will be back up and running? The food in the grocery store might have been looted, and whatever's left will certainly spoil someday. Best to try to cultivate a home garden and fish for the time being. Gardening is actually my hobby, so I would like to make myself useful and help to grow food for my fellow survivors.)

-Be careful and practical in my actions, so I don't get injured and can live that much longer. I would also try to be positive and polite to other survivors. As stressful as the situation would be, it would be better to try to get along with whoever's left.

-Study up on needed skills--refreshing my wilderness first-responder training, or outdoor medicine, or how to build effective defenses or use old-fashioned communications (like Morse code or CB radios or whatever). Stuff like that.

(Like I said, I've been writing my own zombie apocalypse story, so this sort of thing has been on my mind lately. XD I don't know if any of this would be of any help to me, but it would certainly be worth a shot.)

No matter where you go in the city you'll run out of water or food sooner or later, so maybe antartica..wait, no.

If i can't leave my town and being the UK firearms are out of a 3rd story window, i guess hiding in the underground railway and barricading the tunnels leading to my underground civilization and then enslave the surface dwellers! Oh and pack baked beans...ALOT of baked beans.

A megamall on a small island would be the most perfect thing ever :D
But yes a mall is the best option. Dead Rising I salute you

Seeing as there is about 15 people in the city who are gamers (and therefore smart enough to think "Mall" when seeing zombies), I think it won't be a problem.
Yeah, the whole "let's hide in a mall" thing is not exclusive to gamers. Ever since George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead malls have been one of the most prominent settings for zombie films. Trust me, everyone who has owned a TV any time in the last 30 or so years probably knows that the mall is the place to go.

As for me, I would head for the local high school, because I'm fairly certain that if there are going to be any rescue teams, that's where they'd probably set up. And if there aren't going to be any rescue teams, I'm probably fucked anyways.

Stay inside. Wii, PS3, 360, PS2, PC, DS, GBA, and an N64. Screw your malls, I'm boarding up my house and playing Pokemon. But first I would grab some guns and have a secret entrance on the roof because zombies can't get up there, it's easily defendable, and I could just sit up on the roof and shoot at zombies if video games get boring. Also, I'll dig a trench from my house to the nearest grocery store.

Exactly--I asked my mother (whose only gaming experience is that she plays WiiSports on weekends) what her zombie plan was, and she said "oh, we'll go hide out at Walmart!" That's EVERYBODY'S plan, gamer or not.

In all seriousness the loft in my house could serve as a temporary safehouse, unless zombies fly now (Damn zombies and their interbreeding with radioactive flying pigs).

Option 1:Grab a nearby object preferably made of metal and sturdy. Gather a short-wave radio, flashlight, spors armor, thick clothing, a tent(yes a tent), sleeping bag, and alot of bottled water and tinned food. Get a map and look for aany bomb shelters and make that temporary safehouse find a transciever and send out an SOS. Finlly look for survivors before the eventual paranoia and rambo syndrome set in.
