    Rock On

Needs more "Yor: The Hunter From The Future". Easily the bestworst cheesy caveman movie. The protagonist even gets his own cheesy prog-rock theme song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q39f4YzK6sU

    Top 5 favorite bands

Pink Floyd Queen Blue Oyster Cult The Protomen ummm....idk about a fifth. At this moment I'm tempted to say "Odd Future" if a rap collective counts as a "band" by thread's standards. Or maybe Ghost, but it's too early to tell for them. Screw it, I'll just say Black Sabbath.

The Big Picture: The Devil & Mr. Parker

The Marvel Devil is indeed incompetent. A stark contrast from the DC Devil, who is in fact David Bowie with wings.

Games you've been waiting for for years.

How could I have forgotten to say that I'm desperately in need of a new Chrono game?

I'm intending to make a computer game, and would like some feedback on the core idea.

It sounds vaguely similar to the concept of Soul Nomad (the leveling down thing), but overall it's pretty unique.

Games you've been waiting for for years.

The Last Guardian, that new Donkey Kong Country In terms of games which are not announced but I'd love to see, a new Heroes of Might and Magic game would be great. And a Warcraft 4.

Worst Game you have Ever Played and why

You know, I actually think Shaq Fu gets a worse rap than it deserves. I mean, yes, it's bad, but it doesn't really play much worse than any of the other generic slew of fighters that came out in the mid to late nineties. It's just considered worse because of the goofy premise. My least...

Games you enjoyed which were either poorly reviewed or overlooked

Eh, my feeling was this is a bit of a different idea from Cult Classics in that cult classics are games which are not popular but are generally considered good by those who play them, while here I'm more asking about games which are generally considered to be bad but you enjoy.

    Games considered "Cult Classics"

I'd actually recommend the other two games much more highly, although I'd be hard pressed to tell which which is better between those two. Gaia has better pacing and the combat is perhaps better designed, while Terranigma is overall a larger game, perhaps more a traditional RPG, and has...

Games you enjoyed which were either poorly reviewed or overlooked

Have and of you ever played a game which which was supposed to be terrible, only to discover that you really liked the game? This happened to me recently with the XBox 360 game Operation Darkness. I'd been vaguely aware of it as a goofy sort of concept (Japanese strategy RPG set on the western...

    What constitues a good remake?

I think a good remake takes a game which was at the time great, but at this point has many elements which are dated, and updates it for the modern gamer. The spectrum from port to enhanced port to remake to full reimagining is a bit vague though.

You call THIS a final boss!?

Operation Darkness, while the final boss was a gigantic robot demon vampire cyclops monster with a sword sticking out of it, was still underwhelming because they made the mistake of having Hitler be the second to last rather than last boss.

    Poll: Turok (2008)

Everything that made the N64 Turok games good was absent. The rich, explorable environments which would later carry over into Retro's Metroid Prime games are gone, replaced by generic same-y crap you see in every FPS. This could have been okay, because there's still a certain camp value to...

    Games considered "Cult Classics"

I agree with just about everything named in this thread. Also the Monkey Island games, which may have been fairly popular back in the day but are essentially forgotten now. I'm also not sure how mainstream the Heroes of Might and Magic games are, but since turn based strategy tends to be a...

    Best Metal Album

Almost certainly Black Sabbath's Paranoid. I did really enjoy Mastodon's Crack the Skye, though. I also adore Imaginos by Blue Oyster Cult, though that's sort of right on the line between metal and hard rock. And Dawn of Victory by Rhapsody is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I enjoy the...
