I'm not very good at making thread topics either. Something about what my posts are for some reason just makes them uninteresting for other people I guess... :(

That is unless I am doing something controversial.

I've been here for a year and a half and I've only started two threads, I think (aside from an RP or two). I don't see the point of starting a thread unless it's something I really wonder about, and it's something serious and thoughtful.

Congrats on 10K, anyway. You've reminded me of an idea I've had bouncing around my head for a while, so I'm going to go off and make a thread. [small]Look out for it, if you like[/small]

Perhaps I should make a thread on the merits of the headbutt.

I can add to topics well in my opinion, but for some reason my threads (however uncommon) are almost always not very popular. Maybe it's my lack of ability to name things well.
(I've posted probably only about 30 threads)
However I have made in the past a couple good forum games and excellent reviews.

...And I still can't make an interesting thread. I seriously have a problem starting a good thread. I can, however, make an established thread spicier. It's what I do.

What do you do? Can you make a good thread? Do you throw threads off course? Can you make a good argument?

I'm just a terrible writer with no original ideas. But I have 10,000 posts now, so WOOO!
Congratulations.

I have an uncanny ability to write long editorial threads that people can magically disagree with without actually reading them.
The text wall knee jerk reaction. I bet they read the title, first line, or last line and think that's the whole of your post.
It's all too easy to do, even if you usually listen to people's opinions. If the thread title is "Final Fantasy sucks", are you really going to read through 500+ words related to that topic?
I'd read in enough to see if he's talking about a specific one, or the series as a whole. Because I will defend 9, but won't defend 8.
Well, I wouldn't defend any of them, to be honest. I'd just ask him to back up his opening statement (Which he would have done in the 500+ words he posted. Wow, I am just not making sense today).
Why wouldn't you defend a Final Fantasy game?
*shrugs* I'm not a huge fan. I don't possess a rabid hatred of them, I'm just not too pushed about them one way or the other.
Why not, what's wrong with them?

They're just not my sort of game. I can understand why they'd appeal to people, but I'd prefer games like Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines for my RPG fix. Maybe that makes me a philistine, but at least I'm a happy philistine.

Well I... *Head spins* T-t-ten thousand?

There's no way that could be true!

Congrats. Sadly, I do not know what the perfect thread recipe is.

Edit: Adding that one word into the title may help increase views though :D

After a year here I found the secret to successful threads: A thread were people can brag about themselves, a thread talking about avatars, and controversial threads.

I still can't make a thread to save my life though.

I work behind the scenes and secretly rule all. Making a thread is useless as I can just order my minions to do it *evil laugh*

I know of the other leaders, but a new reign is coming. A reign with an awful laugh NARHARHARHAR (shit are we derailing a thread that didn't really have much rails to begin with?)

I did see earlier that you were remarkably close to 10,000. Congratulations on your insanely high post count!

I too struggle with starting threads, to the point where, generally speaking, I do not. I like to think that I add some wit and an archaic mode of speaking to the threads in which I comment, however.

My minions will fight to the end, they are young and sturdy and will prevail to wipe out all of you old ones, my army constantly grows NARHARHARHAR
[sub][sub]This wouldn't be the first time I have done this. It's a bit weird that you are participating in the derailment of your own thread though[/sub][/sub]

Edit: What in the? I think I did something wrong...
The bbcode seems to be in order...

The only successful thread I made was one on Ultimate-Guitar's 'The Pit'. And it was about sex stuff, so of course it was successful there. I haven't made a thread yet on The Escapist, I don't really have reason to. I just contribute to random threads every now and then. That's what I do.

I've heard after 10k your soul now belongs to the escapist.
Yes. This one powers server number 337. Neonbob powers 3 separate servers.
That's an impressive amount of power.
Yes, the power is OVER NINE THOUSAND!
I could easly run my entire city with that much power.
I wish it was enough to power the Escapist. But sadly, this much awesome is too much to maintain.
Damn you're right the slave children need to be working harder.
The slave children had their rations cut in the recent economic downturn. They still complain too much...
Well looks like it's time to cut them up buy new slaves and feed the new slaves the old slaves. When they're done tell them they're eating old slaves. That might motivate them to work alittle harder.
Do you know how much it costs to get that many slaves? We may as well feed the current slaves and buy another yacht cure cancer.
Or just cut out curring cancer and buy just a few new slaves and kill off the worst ones we got as proof we're not afaid to kill.
