no that list does not point out what a perfect guy would do.

Let me list a few things I believe a perfect guy would do.

1. Teach you how to fly an airplane.
2. Teach you how to shoot properly.
3. Not become extremely uncomfortable when you see/talk/date/hangout with other guys.

I am a man, and I do these 3 things for my girlfriend. So, I believe I'm perfect.

i agree with PurpleRain. It's not being whipped or losing self-respect. Many of those things I have done because I cared for the person I was with.

Going on a date with someone is no big deal, who the fuck cares. We're all 20-something, no need to get tied down with any one person.

I'll also maintain a girlfriend and date several different women at the same time.

you've all probably seem this list, its pretty old and its been floating around in the interwebs for a while. I didn't see it come up at all in search so here for the sake of discussion. My friends have been chain mailing me this (none of them understand that sending to all friends will result in me getting about 20 of these bad boys) What do you think of guys who seem to embody this list (for lack of a better term, whipped guys?

1. Know how to make you smile when you are down.
2. Try to secretly smell your hair, but you always
notice.
3. Stick up for you, but still respects your
independence.
4. Give you the remote control during the game.
5. Come up behind you and put his arms around you.
6. Play with your hair.
7. His hands always find yours.
8. Be cute when he really wants something.
9. Offer you plenty of massages.
10. Dance with you, even if he feels like a dork.
11. Never run out of love.
12. Be funny, but know how to be serious.
13. Realize he's being funny when he needs to be
serious.
14. Be patient when you take forever to get ready.
15. React so cutely when you hit him and it actually
hurts.
16. Smile a lot.
17. Plans a romantic date full of cheesy things he
wouldn't normally like to do, just because he knows it
means a lot to you.
18. Appreciate you.
19. Help others out.
20. Drive 5 hours just to see you for 1.
21. Always gives you a peck on the cheek when you
depart from each others company, even when his friends
are watching.
22. Sing, even if he can't.
23. Have a creative sense of humor.
24. Stare at you.
25. Call for no reason.
26. Quit smoking, chewing, drinking, or drugs - just
because he loves u that much to quit it.

I think this list is the dumbest fucking thing a woman (assuming) has ever written. I don't know any girls that expect this out of a man, and I don't know any man that tries to do any of these. Granted, some are common sense, so I'll high light some really outrageous ones.
Number 2 is just bizarre. You'll just look like a weirdo. Same with 6 and 9 (olololol).
Number 4 basically means to relinquish all sense of ownership and possession for the sake of your girlfriend. Since when was holding the remote a prestigious honor?
Number 3 in dudespeak is: Support me when I need it but don't expect the favor to be returned.

Maybe i'm just grouchy, its midnight, and I haven't slept yet. Escapists (guys and girls) what is your take on this. There isn't a female version of the list anywhere on the internet... maybe I should get the ol' typewriter out...
And that's why the 'perfect guy' either doesn't exist or likes men

That's the least mature concept I've ever heard.

Firstly because a 'perfect woman' is an oxymoron.

I've been married for almost a year and dated my wife for 2.5 years before that day. I did all those things and more and still do. Now tell me internet list...why if a guy is perfect according to you that the relaionship should be circling the drain that you seek to taunt me with this...i've seen it 14 times in the past 3 weeks. seriously this list has been around from when i first started bloody dating. well you evil list. Note the forum poster had the right idea bringing this to the attn of people everywhere heed this warning.

You will slip up in a relationship you are human(please not the author believes all the forum posters are human untill proved innocent) that is no reason to destroy a perfectly good relationship. and for all the stubborn men and women out there. you cannot change them. you can change you. if it looks sour bail and never look back(again the author realises he is being a hypocrit<swearing again...oooo look one in russian this time..glark...ck>....author notes censor brain has been killed and the author subcousis is being chased NNNOOOOO OMG AUGHH my spleen)

all of those reasons above that seem like insanity began to happen because i got married...think before you do this

Just excuse the numerous people agreeing with the list.

This list is perfectly reasonable, from the perspective of a young girl with a macho, insecure boyfriend. Those of us who are not ashamed to be openly romantic, or to look stupid in order to make someone you love feel better, already do at least 15 of these 25 things.

Although I personally draw the line at #20. I'm not driving anywhere unless I can get at least a 1:1 ratio. :p

Women are kind of like cards...err, poker I mean.

If you always 'play your hand and let opponents play you with their hand', your odds of 'success' are highly reduced.

In other words, they play 'games' with us. It's like...bluffing in poker. You need to counter and counter-attack these bluffs.

Certain women and their, eh...'lists', especially the ones that are borderline feminist. They need to be counter-attacked with 'game'. And it can be done.

One can try to be the perfect guy, and the first thing they can do to try, is to not for one moment, think about themselves.
Counter me that.

Well, I sort of don't understand what you mean by that. I'm not saying being the perfect guy, just love them unconditionally, and if you're in a great relationship, they would do the same. What's thinking about themselves fit into this?

I think you guys are taking this a little too seriously. Most women know that guys are never going to do those things. And what a "perfect man" is is different to every woman.

Mostly, I just don't want a guy who blames everything I say that he doesn't like on PMS. But then, I like mature men, not college frat boys. Mature men know they can't just expect sex for nothing. We expect something in return.
You talk like a woman who's watched far too many American Sit Coms.
...not really. I don't really like sitcoms. I've just been to college. And in my experience, college guys act like you owe them something for existing and will blame you if they act like jerks. But--honestly--the college I go to is across the street from Notre Dame University, so a lot of guys who go there feel like they're entitled to whatever they want because they're from rich families. It's a sweeping statement to say 'all college frat boys', yes and I'll admit to that. And, of course, not all guys are like that.

It was just weird to watch all the guys on here flip out about a list. When, if you truly love who you're with--you don't need a list because the point of loving someone is each person thinks about the other first. Women aren't just ungrateful bitches who expect a man to worship them. And they're all making it sound like that's what women are.

if a girl expected me to travel 5 hours just to spend one hour whit her and then travel 5 hours back she must be insane, Ive been siting in the train for 5 hours and you wont even let me crash, seriously i would most likely end the relationship if she asked me after such a long trip to go home after one hour.

Ah, I see. I couldn't imagine that living in a country without real frat boys, but I was moreso talking about your last line. You make it seem that sex is sort of a gift, reward or something to trade. I would hope not in a relationship. Isn't more consensual to two people with no strings? Most Tv shows make it seem as if all the man wants is sex and would be a fool to deny it while the woman uses it to get what she wants. Those sorts of things make me shudder. But I guess it wasn't what you were talking about?

Where I am girls my age just want a guy who wears tight pants, converse sneakers, scarves all year long, and plays guitar. I wear long leans, work boots and play the trombone.

So you can see how hard it is. Maybe I should try sniffing their hair, I hear that always works.

Conforming your every action to every passing whim and fancy (no matter whether it's communicated or not, I guess it's the guy's job to just know these things without a word being spoken) works ONLY if they do the same for you. It doesn't work when the girl offers little in return, yet expects the guy to basically exist for her pleasure.

My ideal girl won't mind my serious personality, she won't expect that I can just make a joke off the top of my head, or play the clown in a way that instantly pleases her(I suddenly have this mental image of a pre-shcooler being entertained by a balloon blowing clown making childish faces and noises). She won't be ruled by her emotions, she won't strike to inflict pain unless there's really a reason to. She will realize how irrational it is for me to drive 5 hours just to see her for 1, and won't mind when I make the RATIONAL choice. There will be mutual thanks that we support eachother, not a sense of entitlement. She will be clear and honest about her expectations and desires, not coy and obfuscatory, then be angry when I can't divine what she really wants.

This list sounds like it was made by a girl who doesn't meet any of these critera I am looking for. In other words, a girl who's just really damn immature.
